Prevent rear seat from folding

Is there way to prevent the rear seat from down, possibly by inserting a pin in the mechanism somewhere. Maybe wishful thinking. I am using the area for storage and I would hate for the kids or maybe a mechanic to fold the seat and crush everything.

Anyone figure out a solution for this? This would be a great theft deterrent to prevent easy access into the cargo, especially with those who have a rear cargo basket installed.

Maybe disconnect the release cable from either the lever on the seat or the mechanism?
