I've done some PPF and ceramic coat on my vehicles.

Ceramic coat is very slippery. In general, decals don't stay stuck to ceramic. They look like they are going to stick, but a month later you find them lying on the ground next to your Jeep. Hopefully your Rubicon stickers will stay stuck.

My detail shop does not require the once-a-year maintenance on ceramic coats, but the warranty is still for 7 years.

Eeek, I hope they stick too. They didn't mention any issues with putting them over and when I asked the owner what he would do if it was his car he immediately said he'd take them off and replace them.

My experience comes from an RV that I ceramic coated. I tried to replace decals that had been on the RV prior to the ceramic coat, and they would not stay stuck. Hopefully your Rubicon decals use better quality adhesive.

If I was doing just Ceramic I would just put that OVER the decals. For PPF (like mine is) I pulled the decals, then installed PPF, then re installed all decals. AFTER that I would ceramic coat OVER them. I was told by the place that did my PPF, that if the decals were flat even after ceramic they would still be flat. (and with my big ass matte blackout decal on the hood GOD I hope so.

I MAY get it ceramic coated this summer, but not sure. I WILL get my half doors done in PPF though. Unfortunately I just found out I need to look at getting a hinge redone in PPF, it pulled up around the barrel and lets junk get in behind it.

I have my 10 day appointment tomorrow. They will detail the outside and make sure all the PPF looks good and they are going to reapply the decals. After that I have to come back yearly for a topcoat for the ceramic so I'm glad to hear that it will stay matte after that because I don't plan on having to take them off every year for the next 8 years!

yep the best thing is to talk with your installer and do it how they recommend. My shop was really accommodating, and do WAY higher end cars than my Jeep (there was 2 Ferraris and a Lambo in the shop at the same time as my Jeep) so I know they know their stuff, well I would THINK they do LOL.

Absolutely have to do your research before turning your vehicle over to them and letting the do their thing. This shop does lots of higher end stuff too. Plus they have a lot of satisfied customers and I was shown some of their other work in person. They post a lot on FB with videos of jobs they are doing and seem to know their stuff. Plus that they want me back yearly says they care about the job they do.

My husband's Audi S7 arrived about 2 weeks before my Wrangler (I ordered mine 2 weeks before he ordered his) and he had Audi do some paint protection before he picked it up. He talked to the owner of the shop I took the Wrangler to when we dropped it off because he wanted his windows tinted. When he took it back the next week for tinting, they showed him he already had a paint chip on the hood. He didn't even know what Audi did, but I think it was just ceramic and he really needs PPF on front end at least. It's low to the ground and he drives on the highway daily. Poor thing doesn't stand a chance.

Got the first wash today and they put the decals back on. Everything looks great and PPF adhered great. Crap day so you can't see how shiny she is. You can see a little snow reflection and a bit of the rubicon decal on the fender though. Impressive for this overcast day and this color..
