In the interest of scientific research, I took the liberty of cloning out the flare extensions. How's that lift look now?

(Also reduced haze, adjusted exposure, white balance, and etc. No material alteration other than removing the flare extensions)

Badass for a factory Jeep with full warranty and 4.56 gears!

Not super scientific but close enough. Last pick is non lifted on 35" KO2.

Xtreme Recon looks the exact same as 35s on stock Rubi. Hopefully it is just a bad picture and not the case. I'm not a fan of the stuffed wheels look.

I ordered this package because I currently have a 2016 Sahara that's lifted and has 35" tires. I was planning on swapping both axels that had 4.88 gears and would have been $6200 for what I wanted to put in. The price of XR and having it under warranty made it a easy choice.

What a difference. 100% better without the extended fenders.

Who saw this package being controversial? I’m amazed that it’s even a discussion.

Well the hardcore rock crawlers are always going to think it's not good enough, the mom's are going to think it's too much, for me, I don't think I ever will want to go bigger than 37's. But that is a long way off for me. I'm just glad that after 20 years of dreaming of owning a jeep it's finally happening. Pumped that my first jeep will be a Rubicon on 35's, to hell with the haters.

I saw a 4xE Rubicon yesterday with the fender flare extensions. It was definitely not an XR and was on the stock wheel/tires. Wasn’t digging the look of them, but the bigger point is how/why did the 4xE have those flare extensions? Are they available now through Mopar? Sorry, but was unable to get a photo.

Huh, that’s weird. I’m sure some people would buy them if they were available. It’s not my cup of tea.

This does help. I was feeling some buyers remorse as well at first. Trying to then justify 4K for the 4.56 and tire carrier so I’m not bummed out. I don’t like the stuffed tire look either. The first mod might pulling the flare extensions. They seem and look like a total last minute decision for Jeep engineers anyway.

Good thing it wasn't available for order on mine or standard equipment for that matter. "Not my cup of tea" is being extra kind imo. :puke:

That’s how I felt about the flares on our Demon. Then you get use to it and the regular ones look narrow. With a lot of new things, takes time to grow on you.

My biggest concern is the narrow trails we take our Jeep on. Was very common to rub the fenders along trees. I can’t help but think, it’s going to absolutely wreck these extensions.

I have one on order as well. Feeling a bit disappointed based on the picture in comparison to what was presented at the Chicago Auto Show.

I'm hoping it is just a bad picture. If not, I'll probably throw some 1-2" spacers on to give it a little boost.

My last five jeeps have all been highly modified on 38-40s. I've grown tired of such modified jeeps so I thought that this would be the perfect stock option.

From what I understand the price you negotiated at the dealer at the time of purchase should be the price you pay. This is my first ordered vehicle, I'll find out soon enough. While we're off topic a bit does anyone know how it works if you finance through a local credit union? I got really good rates at my local bank and I don't know if I just roll into the dealership and tell them or is there a game you have to play so they don't try and screw you over for financing outside their finance department?
within reason, you can always play one finance rate against another - credit unions (and the dealer F&I guy) will always give you one rate but you can get one or the other to shave a few tenths off if you have the sense to mention it... they want your business and will usually try to beat or match the lower rate... again, to a point...
