Possible to retrofit remote start?

A local dealer has a Sahara equipped exactly the way I'd want with the exception of the remote start. If I buy off the lot, I get a significant discount (over $8k off MSRP), but if I'd want them to special order, they wouldn't budge so much plus a 2 month wait. Not a total deal breaker, but a nice feature to have. I did a search and supposedly you can do the same through the uConnect app, which requires a subscription, so I'd prefer the standard remote option.

I was told that in order to use the UConnect remote start you must already have the factory remote start equipped.

Aftermarket remote starts are easy to come by, but getting one that ties in to the AC/heat settings etc may be harder. Plus you’ll have an extra fob - which should be fine since the jeep one is so small ;-)

The Uconnect Start up through the app is horrible. It takes almost a minute to recognize the vehicle, you need great signal, and 100% of the time it doesn't work.

I was really hoping it's possible to retrofit with OEM

It might not be available now but you can usually buy a Mopar remote starter

bringing this thread back to life - Can it be done with OEM/Mopar? or only aftermarket? I have a new born on the way anytime now and this AZ heat is killer. The Jeep takes forever to cool down a bit here...

Yes, there is a kit you can buy from MOPAR. I think it was like a $400 part.
