For the first time, I attempted to lower the windshield. I carefully removed the plastic caps on the windshield wipers. I took out the Jeep Toolkit and put the 15mm socket on the small rachet wrench. Set the rachet to CCW. Put it on the nut and the shaft of the socket snapped right off!
To remove the nuts, I had to use a 15mm box wrench.
If you have never lowered your windshield, I would recommend using a penetrating oil on the nuts and let them soak. I also recommend using a 15mm box wrench rather than the frail rachet wrench!
Update: I tried to pull up/off the wiper arms from the armatures. No movement.
I bought an battery post puller. No movement on the arms. So I soaking the arms with penetrating oil for 24 hours.
So I recommend you try to remove your wiper arms, even if you don't plan on lowering the windshield. Then put them
back on with a protective coating. You never know when you will need to remove them. It is better to be prepared than
have to spend a day or two. Not waste a full day trying to lower your windshield.
