The biggest issue is the 4000 feet of vertical that you encounter doing the full loop. The ridge is plenty wide. The walk down involves a lot of stepping down rocks that are 2-3 ft tall which is tough on the feet.Yes, Little Haystack to Lincoln. That traverse is not as hairy as it looks but still plenty challenging. Good to get the kids out for adventures like that.
I've done it as a winter hike and its much easier because the trail packs in and is a smooth monorail. You obviously need to pick your day or you will die. Ha.
