I posted another thread that this is the part of my AC unit that is leaking. ;)

Next I'll purchase a flush system for like 20 bucks on Amazon, some flush cleaner, and I'll take off the old condenser, flush the system, put on the new condenser, test the pressure on the system, and then Install the freon again. And hopefully I'll be good after that.

This right here is the video I sent my Dad when I figured where the leak was coming from.

Actually had it all yanked apart, the front grill and was inspecting it visually but this video was filmed after I had already put all back together and my dad was asking me about what I was telling him. ?‍♂
Is it just me or did I hear a British accent in there, somewhere around obnoxiously loud?

I thought I heard it, too. I got excited the infamous Tredsdert was British?
The second “o” is long/pronounced, guess just a random emphasis and not an accent, apparently. I’m from Michigan so I would say obnaaahxiously.
Carry on.

During basic training, I got a lot of side-eye when others heard my native Pennsylvania Dutch accent.

Now, in that situation, extra attention from anyone is the last thing you want. So, I packed it away pretty quickly and adopted a flat Midwestern accent. That worked. ?

Yes, I think maybe that's what I'm hearing, a Midwestern or possibly a New Jersey, accent.

During COVID while wearing a mask, I used to mess around with my Boston accent. I need a (part) for my (car), I'll pay for it with my (card). ;)

...I was just trying to change my manual shift knob today and well...

Lets just say that factory knob is REALLY on there, I tried every which way to yank it free. Now my Jeep is full of urethane debris and almost microscopic metal shavings from copious use of the dremel to cut it off. I also had to buy a new shift boot/knob/etc because I nicked the hell out of my reverse lockout ring with said dremel use. And of course nobody will sell just the ring so another $73 to fix that problem.

I felt like I really channeled my inner Tredsdert today.

Anyway those blue rings really tie things together with the 4xe badge.

I know the feeling.

I put on aftermarket horns which damaged the AC condenser, and now I have to spend about $350 to replace the AC condenser, and all the equipment I need to flush, vacuum, and then refill the AC unit.

Yeah...at least you know you're not the only one to suffer.

The best part is, honestly I think it looks kind of goofy and just might put it back to stock when those parts come in. I don't know yet.

I like the old school look of the knob itself though which is why I bought it and the matching YJ style transfer case knob that's not installed yet.

Minus all the white powder everywhere, that's a nice looking shifter.

Though I do agree with you, it's almost an old school look in too new of a vehicle. That's kind of how my Wrangler is, when you sit down and look at the dash, it looks like a 2021 Jeep Wrangler, but when you look in the backseat, or at the exterior of the vehicle, it looks somewhere between a YJ and a JK. That's partially why I try not to mess too much with the dash area. A little bit of accents here and there, but nothing too big.

Honestly at the end of the day, I'd chalk your situation up to: it makes it more fun to drive.

I can see you now, resting your hand on top of the shifter ball in between shifts when you're cruising along on the highway with the windows down and the top off.

If anything, once you get the transfer case knob on there, It will look more complete. With time we'll get used to it and you'll stop seeing it as a "goofy" look. Don't forget, it's a black knob on a black interior.

As an added thought, you should get an off-white YJ ball shifter on the transfer case. Then you can remove the shift points image from the main shifter, put an eight ball sticker on there, and have you a real old school look going! ? ? ? :captain:

Do yourself a favor, put 10,000 mi on the vehicle with those shifter knobs, if you still want to switch it back after that, then do it. But I bet you a tredsdert sticker that after 10,000 miles, you'll love them the way they are! ?
I like the knobs it's the goofy look with that red ring with the aftermarket knob I'm not sure I care for.

Another thing that I do like is that the shifter actually sticks up farther and I like it better that way. I kind of wish they would have stuck with a JK style shifter honestly. I like the longer throw and it feels more natural to me in the Jeep

I wish I knew somebody that knew how to 3D print things I would ask if they could 3D print a new ring collar that didn't stick out so bad like that red one does. Once I get the new boot with ring in and I get it apart I might look into that to see what can be done. Maybe see if I can get something a little more low profile. I think that would be nice and help smooth out the look.
