I bought this low profile 3ton jack with max reach of 19.7”

I needed one jack to use for my bmw and my 2020 stock jeep wrangler.

Is this a good enough reach if I wanted to do oil change and break changes myself?

Yes, that jack should be fine as long as it fits your BMW. Oil changes don’t require a jack at all. There is plenty of space for you to crawl under the Jeep without lifting it.

To replace the brakes, you only need to jack under the axle tube right next to the wheel. Then the jack only has to lift up one or two inches to get the tire off the ground. The bottom of the axle on your Jeep is less than 19 inches, for sure.

I got one and it started leaking shortly after the warranty period (90 days I believe). The local HF was kind enough to exchange it after paying for an extended warranty. Might consider tacking that on when you buy it.

I like the height on the jack because I can lift from the frame rail and put one of the big 12 ton stands next to it. Then I can take the tires off and droop the axles.

Interesting…. How does something like that happen? I thought these jacks are supposed to be indestructible

Don’t know, I guess an internal seal or check valve with some gunk in it? I had another jack do it too but it was close to 20 years old.
