Is it normal that you have to put your cell phone on wifi calling on order to make a phone call in a 2023 Wrangler? I don't think I had to do this before but that is the only way I can make a call now

is it a 2023 or 2024? The reason I ask is because the 2024's use wifi for the wireless Android Auto / Apple Carplay connection. The 2023's and previous do not. It should just be a bluetooth connection.

What you can do is delete the car from you bluetooth connections and delete your phone from the UConnect, perform a soft reset on the UConnect and then re-pair everything to see if it fixes the issue.

Until 2024 Wranglers didn't have native wireless android auto or carplay. If you have to use a 3rd party adapter...it's not built in. The 2024s have wireless android auto and carplay built in and it uses bluetooth.

You should be able to use bluetooth, that's how mine does it. I don't even use the built in wi-fi or even know how to activate it actually.

My phone has better connectivity so I don't need the Jeep to duplicate something my phone does better.

Why would wireless Carplay/AA interfere with a cellular connection?

@DubaiMarauder

My 2018 JL and JL/JT model years 2019 to 2023, do use 2.4 and 5 WiFi in regard to Wireless Android Auto..

Read here: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/?aawireless-motorola-ma1-wireless-android-auto-adapter-talk-?.86856/

I'm not knowledgeable in regard to the way a 2024 JL/JT actually handles Android Auto or Apple Car Play. I do know that for 2024 JL/JT's Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto are now standard.

Pre 2024, bluetooth had nothing to do with Carplay working. It only works from being hardwired.
