They screwed up when they put the head gasket on mine. It had debris between the head gasket layers and cause a head gasket leak with coolant into the cylinder. They shipped it to the dealer that way. The codes were flashing from the time I got it and the dealer said it was bad gas. By 430 miles the white smoke was bad and the codes kept coming. They must have known it at the factory and shipped it anyway. What a shame. Ended up having the car in the shop for 2 weeks and getting a new head gasket. Stellantis refuses to provide an extended warranty on the engine despite the fact it came that way from the factory. Never again will I buy a Jeep if they do not provide better quality or customer support after such a failure.

I saw this video years ago (2018-ish) when we bought our first JLU (Sahara). At the time I also had recently purchased a Chevy Colorado with the 2.8 Duramax 4-cylinder. There's a video out there of the factory in Thailand where they build that engine.
No offense at all to the good people building the pentastar, but the Duramax factory in Thailand was like a clean room. Everyone wore tyvek suits, hair nets, shoe covers. You could perform open heart surgery on the factory floor. The Mack Engine plant looks like a 1930's factory with a few robots thrown in for fun. Hence the lack of smiles...
The Stellantis Mack engine complex is a manufacturing dinosaur competing in the era of AI. It explains head gasket issues, rocker issues, oil cooler leaks, and so many other little annoying problems we see on these engines, in my opinion. Again, no offense to the folks working there, it's a leadership problem in the Netherlands.
