Pentastar 3.6 V6 has been winning awards for years. That's why I have one in my JLU.

Neither of the engines referenced in those articles, are currently available in the JLU.

If you read some of the 2.0L threads FCA is getting rid of the Pentastar (and maybe the Hemi) and putting the 2.0L in. If you read the Green New Deal they will be replacing all car motors in 10 years with an empty engine compartment.

Love my 3.6 auto Rubicon. glad jeep is pushing those Fiat 2.0 turbo‘s because that’s going to make my 3.6 V6 so much more valuable and cool years down the line because I plan on keeping it. Yes college girls and the people who lease new jeeps every 2-3 years for the removable top NO they don’t care at all if it has BSG , they get a new vehicle when the lease and warranty are up. In five years jeep can have a completely different owner and not want nothing to do with Fiat engines. Don’t laugh Jeep was in bed with Renault and we got junk 4 cylinders and bad transmissions. Next owner changed all that and parts were hard to get. I know first hand because it happened to me on a 1989 jeep. The 3.6 is in so many different vehicles for so many years parts will be cheap and plentiful forever.

I personally live around 6000 feet, have purchased 2 JLUR in the past year, and both have the 3.6v6 for a reason. Altitude is no problem, at least up to 11000 feet where I drive, I do not have the true high altitude roads of colorado to wheel one but doubt I would have a problem there either, I for one test drove both multiple times and the complexity of the 2.0 is a deal breaker for me. It is being pushed for gas mileage just like ESS. As I told my son tow things I don't give a crap about in a car, fuel mileage and tires. Sorry if that offends some but I bought the jeep planning to replace the tires and didn't buy it for its MPG rating. That being said I am certain there are lots of people that love the 2.0 and I feel that is fine as well. I just took exception with a previous poster starts stating that the 3.6 doesn't work well at altitude. Sorry to be grumpy this evening.
