Does anyone have experience getting a successful rental from Penske to tow their JL? The website rejected me, but I called a local center and they said it was the tire size that was a concern. I have a set of Rubicon takeoffs for this reason, but didn't consider they'd be too big (Penske flagged the Sport as potentially too big).
The website seems to suggest a 28" limit for tire diameter.
This thread from elsewhere on the forum is uhaul specific, but discusses a similar issue.
It seems chain binders would be the solution, but not sure if Penske will go for that. Or do I need to find some 5x5 donuts somewhere for the front?
I don't want to drive it across the country on a separate trip. Might have to though.

My rig was too large!!! But I'm running 72" D60 axles.

Yeah, I just get HUGE discounts with Penske so they're my preferred vendor. Stacking discounts are rare (Army PCS orders, AAA, not sure if they'll give me a third for their spring specials).
My weight is not a concern (soft top, manual trans).
That being said, I'd rather switch to UHAUL than drive the JL across the country.

I bought oversized tire straps from uhaul and they just fit the rubi KO2’s on the Penske carrier. I fed the straps up from under the trailer so the metal end can catch the same rod the existing straps are on (barely fit, took lots of wiggling to get them through peroperly). They barely fit with 6” of strap, so this is definitely the size limit of these straps.
I’ll use my own chains as a backup holding it down by the frame mounted sliders and use the carrier chains for the axles.
