Hey guys,

So I've had a rattle for the past year, it always seems to be when the car is cold and under load at lower RPMs (EXACTLY 65mph in 6th gear on the highway....go figure). 2022 Rubicon Unlimited 3.6L V6, manual gearbox

It seems to be coming from the passenger side near the foot well, making it super fun to try and diagnose while driving. I have looked at literally every single thread on this forum as to what it could be....and I have removed every piece of plastic on the upper half of the inside of the car and dampened things in trying to isolate it.....to no avail. No pressure on any panel makes it stop either

I managed to film 2 videos of it (super crappy, sorry was on the highway driving trying not to die). I'm at my wits end with this thing, every single day for a year commuting in drives you up a wall...

Could anyone venture a guess? I will entertain any and all stupid suggestions at this point! If someone can figure it out first round is on me

Have you tried emptying the glove box? Something under the hood by the firewall?

Yep, emptied the glove box, even removed the entire glove box, no luck there

I like the firewall idea, I'll check there. Definitely sounds metallic to me

I know you said footwell area, but did you check the 4 bolts of the windshield? Few on here including myself have found loose bolts.

Funny enough those were loose. Got super excited but ended up not being it

To me and when a passenger hears it, it sounds lower down. Again, somewhat tough to localize

Appreciate the answers and the help!

Unfortunately I cannot hear it on your video. You could try slightly tightening the wheel bearing castle nut on the passenger front. Those are sometimes under-torqued and can cause noise. I had a little bit of metallic noise coming from mine, tightened it, and it was gone.

Not sure if this helps but I had a rattle at all speeds (pretty much) near where the soft top engages on closing. Turns out it was a bolt that needed tightening. I am sure you have checked all possible bolts to tighten - you need a star Allen key - but if not…

Hey guys, possible update on this if it helps narrow down the location any -

When I put a 10 pound backpack on the floor of the passenger side, the rattle seems to go away. I pulled up the rugs and didn't find anything floating around, but there seems to be a plastic ducting system behind where the passenger feet go. Anyone ever have any issues with this?

I'm between the paranoia phase and the bartering with God phase, I appreciate all the help with this, you guys are fantastic!

Thank you for this. I’ve had this rattle since I bought my jeep in December. Ran across this threads and sure enough, the far passenger side windshield bolt was just loose enough to let the washer wiggle.
