Hi all. Filled up my fuel tank last week and got P0174 fuel system 2 and P2098 downstream post-catalyst fuel trim system 2 lean downstream fuel trim system 2.
Had a rough idle one day on startup and when I was stopped for a short time. Though maybe I got bad fuel so I cleared the codes to see if they would come back. Codes came back one more time but never had the rough idle again and once it got to a little under 3/4 tank no issues. At this point I was thinking definitely bad gas. Let my tank get down to just under 1/4 and filled it up last night. Get on the highway this morning and as I get off my exit for work auto start stop disabled which I know is a precursor to the check engine light. Check engine never came on and I did a quick scan and no codes were present. Leaning toward intermittent driver side O2 sensors? What say the good people on this forum?

I had same 0174 code and rough idle, it was a bad downstream O2 sensor. Check for oil leak from the valve cover, that’s what caused my O2 failure.
Did you pull the fender to replace? I am assuming it is easier this way. This is driver side correct?

the area the valve cover usually leaks is the back corner of the passenger side.

Update: sensors are crispy. Definitely pull the fender to get to them. 100x easier. Recommend a breaker bar unless you want to scratch yourself up on the 2nd sensor.

lmao those things are toasted
Yeah and that was only a week after I got the original code that I figured I got bad fuel. Weird to me that once it got below 3/4 or around there it ran fine and I never saw a code again until I filled back up. Thanks for the heads up I saw in one of your previous posts on O2 sensors about resetting fuel trim adaptations.
