2020 JL with 3.6L, 80k miles. Jeep threw misfire codes in bank 1, then too lean codes. P0171 and P2096. Ran rough at idle. Mech changed Bank 1 coil packs, spark plugs. same codes. Swapped out upstream O2 sensor but he said the computer was still reading a lean condition. He gave up... said needed to go to dealer. I did a hard reset on the ECU and it seemed to correct. Idle was fine, no codes, no abnormal acceleration, milage improving. Drove about 50 miles, codes are and with blinking ECU. On highway at about 65 mph.

Stop at friends house for 3-4 hours, start up, no lights, seems to be running fine. Get about 20 miles at 60mph, CEL light on but seems to be running ok. Get home 7 miles later, scan same codes and idle slightly rough.

MAP sensor is original, mech did not change downstream sensor. Put 1/2 tank of premium in tank.

Before I take this to dealer and get hosed, I thought I'd consult the community... I'm hoping I'm missing something easy. Thanks!

Change the downstream O2 sensor on the passenger side. I changed both on the passenger side because the upstream was ruined from oil coming from a leaking VVT sensor o-ring and the downstream was ruined from oil from the PCV valve hose leaking.

If you have any oil on it at all it is probably ruined.

Your right side valve cover is leaking onto the right downstream oxygen sensor. Your tech is blind or doesn't work on jeeps. This is an incredibly common problem that any senior dealer tech could diagnose from the repair order alone. This is a perfect example of when people say "take it to a reputable 3rd party mechanic!" for performance issues I giggle.

Replace right downstream sensor, tighten/replace the valve cover gasket, and reset fuel trim adaptives.

Okay take the same answer. Valve cover leaking onto O2 sensor. Check it. Have you opened your hood at all?
