Anyone else having rattling issues with the overhead speakers on their JLU with bass heavy music? I have the upgraded Alpine sound system and for a stock system, I am very happy with the sound and power that it puts out. I don't have the bass amp'd all the way up (it's a bit below midway) and I never go over volume level 21.

But lately, I am noticing some rattling with the overhead speakers. I am not sure if the issue is with the actual speakers though, I am thinking that the rattle may be coming from the overhead lights that are in-between the speakers.

Every now and then when this happens, I press my hand firmly over the overhead lights area and the rattle goes away, so I am not sure if the pressure that I am applying is stabilizing the entire overhead bar, or if the rattle is indeed coming from the light area do to the vibration from the speakers on either side. This only happens with punchy bass as the lower end 'boomy' bass sounds like it's handled mostly by the subwoofer in the back.

I am going to the dealer on Tuesday for an oil change and tire rotation, so I was wondering if this is a known thing and if I should even bother to ask them to look at it?

Why not? It's bothering you enough to ask on here. You list a '21 in your profile, so unless you are over on mileage, you should be covered under the factory warranty. All it will cost you is a bit of time for the dealer to check things out.

If you want to check a couple of things yourself, grab a set of Allen keys (I say set because I don't recall the exact size off the top of my head) and you can easily remove the speaker grilles. Once you have the grilles off, find the correct size torx bit/driver and make sure the speakers are fully tightened in place. If you want to go even further, you can actually remove each speaker and make sure none of the connectors are loosely rattling around when the speakers are mounted.
