Over size spare help

Hey guys, picking up my 4xe Sahara tomorrow!! I've already ordered new rims and tires and have a question.

Rims are a 20 inch, same as stock but went with a 33x12.5 tire. Will the spare still be able to mount in the stock place without any mod? If I need a new mounting kit what do you guys recommend??

You should be fine. But for piece of mind ive seen quite a few people run the Rough country spare tire relocation bracket

I have a Sport Altitude with 18 inch wheels (same as Sahara but black). I upgraded to 33 inch tires. After doing so, my tire rubbed the bumper on the lower right. I installed a RedRock 4x4 Spare Tire Relocation Bracket and that fixed the rubbing. You will need extended bump stops if you install a relocation bracket.

You won't know if you need a relocation bracket until you actually try fitting the spare with the new tire on it.

What people never mention, or tend to forget is you need to take the spare relocation bracket's weight into account. The tailgate can handle a maximum of 85 lbs.

I think the Rough Country bracket weighs in the range of 13-15 lbs. That is substantial in my opinion.
