Back on 01-09-2108 when I ordered mine, there weren’t any on the lots out here in AZ...then my neighbor shows up last week with a shiny new Jeep, and I’m still waiting like a dummy (because I ordered the dual top I guess)...so, I’m sad. But happy I was able to customize my order and not have to pay for extra things that I simply don’t use.

For instance, my neighbor got the “cold weather package”...no I know there is a storm back east. But it’s 83 degrees in Phoenix today!
lol, I've never been in Arizona during the winter but I do know it got pretty cold in Twentynine Palms when I was there. I could have used heated seats back then.

Picked mine up 1/24/18 off the lot. Traded my 17 JKU in. Can we say impulse?!

I ordered, but have been stuck in D for a month. beginning to think buying something off the lot close to what I want would be the way to go.

not in a huge rush or anything, but I don't have the patience of Job either

I picked mine off the lot. I wanted to test drive a manual and an auto back to back to see if the auto was really worth 2K! My 2007 JKU was a manual. There were only two dealers in town that had a manual Sport S. I had planned on ordering after that because I really wanted dual tops but the day before I test drove the JL, I read posts on here about premium top restrictions and manual restrictions as well. I decided not to wait and purchased the bright white Sport S that I had test drove. It had all the options that I wanted except it had a hard top. The only bonus was I was the only one to drive it. It had 3 miles on it when I test drove it a s I’ve been the only one to put miles on it since!!

I tell you what, if I could find one with the options I wanted, i'd gladly buy off the lot. Not many dual top with color matched tops out there. This waiting is killing me! I ordered a billet silver, but would be ok with white, granite, or red...I ordered 2/19, so I hope its not too much longer.
This is exactly why I ordered. No one had anything with the options I wanted, and if I'm spending $50k on a vehicle ... I'm going to get EXACTLY what I want!

I was 100% going to order my Jeep and had started the process of ordering in early March. I live in MD so I was going to order through one of this forums preferred dealers, Koons in Tysons corner. I sent Craig at Koons my build list and he promptly sent me back a quote that was 5% below invoice with a $699 Admin fee as promised. Craig was awesome and quick responding. The slow down happened when we started talking trade in. To my surprise Craig WAS willing to give me a trade in value on my car via email after I provided VIN and mileage with the caveat that the price would be conservative until they could actually lay eyes on it and inspect it. This conservative value that also took into consideration what the value of my car would be 5 to 6 weeks in the future when my Jeep would be ready was much lower than I wanted and quite frankly too low to even make the hour and a half trip to Koons to further along the negotiations. I explained this to Craig and moved on. One thing that I had noticed and has since been confirmed is that the price of the JL has gone up $500 and destination has been increased by $250 as of March 1st. Realizing that, I decided to take a look at Jeeps that were at my local dealers because they were already $750 cheaper before discounts than anything I could now order. Armed with the "quote" from Koons I decided to start negotiations for a Granite Rubicon that had everything I wanted except the proximity door handles. We went back and forth a few times and I was able to get them down to 2.5% below invoice but that wasn't quite enough for me to be happy so I left. They reached back out to me last Friday and told me they would go to 3.5% below invoice with a $300 admin fee which coupled with the $750 saved that I discussed earlier got me very close to the offer for my proposed order with Koons. Now this is where things get a little interesting, I show up first thing Saturday morning only to be informed that the Granite Rubicon was sold after my salesperson had left on Friday but if I was interested they had a BIllet Silver one that they would offer the same deal on. I agreed to take a look at the Billet Silver and immediately fell in love with the color. It was an identical build to the Granite Rubicon except this one had the matching fenders which I didn't even know I wanted until I saw them on this Jeep. With that said I fully expected this Jeep's MSRP to be $395 more than the Granite one but it wasn't, it was ~ $700 less. I didn't initially say anything to the salesperson because it appeared to be an error but it was in my favor. I read that sticker at least 6 times before I realized what the issue was. The 3 piece hard top was not included on the window sticker (see pics). I decided not to point it out but was pretty sure when they pulled the info from the system the correct price would show up. We worked up the new numbers and to my astonishment the discount was applied based on the options listed on the window, at this point I assumed that I was missing something because there was no way the dealer or the manufacturer would/could make this mistake. So after the deal was closed and all paper work signed I asked my salesman and the sales manager who were both present when the keys were presented to me why the hard top came standard on the Billet Silver but not on the granite. They looked at me confused and said that it didn't. I pointed out to them on the Window sticker (that was now in my hand and no longer on the window) that the 3 piece hard top was not listed and they were literally dumbfounded. They then pulled the VIN number in their system and the hard top showed up as part of the build. To their credit they did not try to pull any shenanigans and redo the already complete deal, I would not of allowed for it anyway, but I ended up getting a free hard top on top of the 3.5% below invoice and lower admin fee that was already agreed on. So when all was said and done, I got the jeep I wanted to order for $100 less and didn't have to wait the 5-6 week stated wait for delivery.

The Colorado I'm driving now was bought off the lot 10 years and I sacrificed a few things I wanted. This time, I'm getting exactly what I want, just have to wait 12 weeks to get it! That's not so bad considering I've been in and out of the dealership since September inquiring about the JL. Sometimes it sucks to know more than the dealer.

Knowing what aftermarker options are available for the JK, I'm looking forward to modding my JL in a couple of years when it needs a refresh!

You got a sweet deal on that Rubicon if you didn't get any charges for the hard top. My wife insisted on the hard top and I didn't think I was going to like it. but Its not bad. Good job and great Jeep!

So it looks like 3/4 of us made the Order rather than buying off the lot. I was expecting somewhere close to half, but I guess Wrangler people can be very specific with what we want.
