I don't have these lights nor have I removed my Wrangler OEM LED lights, so I don't know...

...the Oracle lights look identical and possibly physically interchangeable Left and Right.
They're not interchangeable.

These lights look great. I missed the group buy but just ordered a set yesterday. I got 10% off with free shipping, and received a email saying they should ship around the Jan.22
Sure to be one of the best mods to the jl.
I’m very anxious to receive mine!

It's interesting that some Oracle users are encountering reduced radar blind spot monitor (BSM) performance and others no change from OEM BSM. That could be quality control, CAN bus issues, or at least one further alternative:

I don't have these lights nor have I removed my Wrangler OEM LED lights, so I don't know about the mounting specifics beyond pictures elsewhere on this forum.

However, the Oracle lights look identical and possibly physically interchangeable Left and Right. Is it possible that the BSM radar normally looks sideways/behind with downward orientation, but if you accidentally reversed them Right and Left (and if they fit), the BSM radar would be incorrectly looking sideways/behind with upward orientation?

In this reversed case, it would be no wonder that the Oracle BSM wouldn't be seeing as many cars as the stock installation.

Oracle, if you are monitoring this thread, please comment!

BTW, the lights really look nice!
Thank you. The two housings are not interchangeable so someone could not make this error.

Our development team has looked into the reports about the BSM not performing as expected. First, we would recommend ensuring that the tail light is clean. This is a known problem with JLs and is noted in the owner’s manual: “The area on taillights, where the radar sensors are located, must remain free of snow, ice, and dirt/road contamination so that the BSM system can function properly. Do not block the taillights where the radar sensors are located with foreign objects (bumper stickers, bicycle racks, etc.).” If anyone has further questions after this, please let us know.

The bsm sensors face a 45 degree angle in the OEM lights towards the bumper corners. The Oracle lights reposition the sensors towards the rear.
This is not the case. I understand that it may look that way based on the external panel position, but the sensor is not angled to shoot directly out the back. The interior sensor cradle is angled similarly to the OEM tail light towards the corners. Here's a photo of this:

I took a five hour drive yesterday, both interstate, local highway and some in town driving, and I experience lots of vehicles not activating the BSM system. The smaller vehicles were missed the most and semi trucks were almost never missed. The lens covers were clean. When a regular sized car/suv etc. approached from the rear on the driver side and activated the BSM, it would active when the vehicle was near the rear of my JLUR and it would deactivate when the vehicle got into my blind spot. I have one car ride in my blind spot for several minutes and the BSM was not activated. The passenger side BSM seemed to only activate on semis.

Yup, I know it’s angled. It’s still positioned differently than OEM due to the design of the mold. Coverage will be different.

I think they’re good lights. When the codes etc are sorted out I’ll be happy to buy again.

@Mike Venezia

Controller Area Network (CAN bus) related hiccups/issues, are not at all exclusive to Jeep.

CAN bus vehicle bus standard, is lets say part of the deal these days when you own a new vehicle.

In the case of Oracle Lights and their flush mount tails..... well Oracle Lights dropped the ball in regard to them.. Had Oracle Lights bothered to do proper testing while in the design phase, etc. the CAN bus issues the light offering is plagued with, would not be..

Reality is Oracle Lights used/is using installer's of their offering as beta testers...

I agree w/ all you’ve said! That said, it’s an apples to oranges comparison - Wrangler mods far outweigh any other vehicle. I’m not hating on Jeep, but would have liked them to acknowledge how much we mod our Jeeps, and throw us a bone.

I bought the lights. They are not yet delivered. I contacted Oracle about the two main issues, install on pre-existing LED rear lights and field of view for the BSM. No reply as to those issues. My request was to suspend the order until resolution. No reply. Only told that they will arrive in 2 weeks. I will wait but not install if these issues are not resolved. IMHO.

I know, right? The OEM light housings, and especially the aftermarket LED clones of the factory lights, now look comically bloated.

I have gotten nothing but good comments on the lights. Thus far, no issues.

I guess i’ll be ”that guy” and admit I really don’t like them. I understand flush mounted would be better on trails or if you’re doing certain mods to the back, but I just don’t like the flush look. Like someone else said they make it look a bit too “Bronco” or like a Ford Maverick. Got a real Ford vibe with those lights. It’s definitely a clean look, but to me they just don’t fit the picture. I respect all who love them, I just don’t. And I’m talking out of my ass here but I heard from somewhere that the reason the Wrangler tail lights are like that is due to tail light triangulation and safety.

I purchased the lights as part of the initial pre-order promotion in November. So, technically, I waited 2 months for the lights to arrive (the first batch was shipped out earlier this month.)

The reverse light option is well worth it alone. They are easily 5 times brighter in the same foot print.

Agreed. The C-shaped optic of the red LED lens design is of a time and place. Said differently, it will eventually look dated. That said, the small rectangular LED panel serving as the reverse lighting function is remarkably bright for its size.

When backing up in complete darkness, the driver could be forgiven for thinking that his path is being illuminated by two small headlights. I know that sounds like hyperbole, but hopefully other owners will back me up (ha) here. The reverse light functionality alone makes the investment cost worthy of consideration.
