OnX and Jeep

I don’t see how you can complain about something that clearly requires an ongoing service.

It’s like buying a house then complaining about utility bills.

It's about free alternatives, so why spend?

I use Gaia, free. (no onx)
I use Pandora, free. (no xm)

....as examples.

I've killed many subscription services in the last year. Just took a look at my bank statement, made a few phone calls, and saved over $100 a month. Of course, that goes into Crypto now. Ha!

So how does the Android Auto integration actually work? With Google Maps, if I open the app on my phone, the app opens on the Jeep's screen, and the phone version of the app no longer functions.

Now that OnX is officially compatible with Android Auto, nothing seems different as far as I can tell. I checked that I have the latest version. I can't find any combination of magical incantations that get it to talk to the Jeep.

Maybe it only works with the big nav screen? I have the medium sized screen. I would dearly love to get OnX up onto the bigger screen, as I use it frequently. It does a good job of filling in the gigantic gaps left by Google Maps.

I cannot figure out how to make it work. It doesn't show up as an app in Android Auto on my Uconnect 8.4 nor is it listed as a compatible app in the AA app on my phone. It used to have an Icon in AA on the radio screen that kicked you to a coming soon web page on the phone, but that vanished.

Hmmmmm. And the 8.4 is the big screen, right? So much for the theory that it doesn't work due to my smaller screen. Something else is broken or out of sync or needs some kind of update or something.

Thanks for reaching out. Android Auto capabilities were released for a small user base to test and a few bugs were found. Those have been corrected and the release of the feature should be starting again next week. Keep an eye out for the application in the coming weeks as you should be able to start using it shortly here. Let me know if you have any other questions that I can help out with.

Strange that none of the press releases ever mentioned a small test group. Everything I read said November 2, and there was an update on November 2, so I figured I was good to go.

Oh well. Watch this spot, I guess. Maybe it will work shortly. It sure would be nice.

I understand the "trial" system, sucks!

Like Sirius, I have 2 Jeep with it, like it but...? Since '95! This year over $260 bucks each, so now the procedure starts! I call, look for a deal, no deal that's very good OK connect me to cancellation! "Hello cancellation, don't you like our service... yup love it, just too expensive! Well, how does $80 dollars sound for the year"!!

Well for Jeeps sake why not tell a really long time customer that first instead of going thru all this crap??? Yup that's one Jeep total service one year...lots better than 262 one Jeep, one year! Wouldn't it be a lot simpler...? PLUS if you miss the deadline it's on your account and more fighting!

Search your email for onX should be a redemption link in there. Just did mine that way.

I thought I got the discount link for OnX from the Jeep Badge of Honor app.
Edit: just verified. Go in to the BoH app and then the burger menu (top right, 3 lines) and there's a link in there for it.
