I've had my JL 6 weeks. 3 weeks ago my check engine light came on. Dealer said it's the oil temp sensor, was going to order the part and call me. Last week the CEL came on and the electronic throttle sensor light. The warning across the dash said the electronic throttle needs servicing. Took back to another dealer and they saw the red electronic throttle sensor light on but insisted the oil temp sensor is the problem. They checked to see if they have the part and they don't. I told them the other dealer was supposed to have one for me. (However, the 1st dealer never called to let me know and the only reason I knew they did was because I called their sales manager who went in the back to look for it. I called the sales manager to let him know I was still having issues with this new Jeep he sold me.) Anyway, the 2nd dealer checked the inventory at the other dealer, by computer I guess, and told me they had ordered the wrong part anyway. So I had them order this oil temp sensor and I will have the 2nd dealer do the work. I just don't get a good feeling about the original dealers service department. But now I am hearing stories of people stranded due to the electronic throttle control failure. I don't have time to keep going back and forth to service departments. I drive my Jeep for work, not to work. I'm in sales and I'm constantly about 100miles from home to and from my customers. When I get these dash light warnings I have to stop my day and go straight to dealer service departments. This is costing me time, money and eventually my job if I'm spending all my time chasing car problems. I just can't deal with this! I don't know what to expect by posting this but I needed to vent somewhere.
