After first oil change at 5k miles, Repeated small oil leaks noticed on driveway. Took it to the dealer, added dye, said they didn’t see anything. Took it back today and rep says it’s leaking at the turbo drain. Part unavailable at the moment because of strike at the regional warehouse. Anyone have anything similar?

If it makes you feel better my dealer told me this was the first time they’ve seen this particular leak, so I’m hoping it’s fixable without too much headache once the part is available.

Update: Oil leak is getting worse, Dealer is unable to get the part, 2 other dealers have it but won’t sell it to them currently. If I buy it from them and take it in they won’t fix it under warranty. Dealer recommending opening a case with jeep wave to see if they could help with obtaining the part.

Update: jeep wave rep was able to provide me with 2 dealers in the country who had the part. One of them would
Sell and ship it to me, so I’m at least going to get it fixed Monday.

Is it leaking from the oil return line? Any photos where it’s coming from?

Mine was leaking from that tube, tightened the torx bolts and all was good.

The dealer checked to see if this was the problem stated it seemingly got worse, said the tube appeared to be cracked. Here’s hoping it fixes it!

Update 11/6: Jeep was repaired today, currently no oil seen draining onto my driveway, so that’s a good thing. Wasn’t crazy about having to pay 117$ for a part that was under warranty, but I was less crazy about my engine dumping oil everyday. So here’s hoping we are back in business!

They added the “fluorescent” dye. Told me they would have never found where it was coming from if they hadn’t used that. Mine looked like it was coming from the filter as well to the naked eye.

So what exactly was leaking and what parts did they replace or tighten.

Yes exactly. Oil filter is on the bottom. If it leaks from here, most likely the filter would have a defective gasket or was not tightened far enough. And this should be easily diagnosed as there won't be much if any oil above the filter. There will be some spread out on the bottom of the jeep from wind as you drive.

The oil return line out of the turbo is a totally different issue and should be closer to the top because that's where the turbo is. This could be a mess as oil would most likely get all over the place and may be harder to diagnose.

It looks to be a hard line though and I would think a cracked line would be kinda a fluke unless it was not correctly made and was at a bind or something.

But since it seems to be rare, first time I have heard of it. I would lean towards kinda fluke.

Of course most dealer tech.'s aren't great. So maybe some investigating, hood up, flashlight, running and see what you can see. Could be as the other jeeper posted. Couple loose bolts.
