Less than 9 months ago I experienced the total electrical failure that others here are familiar with - dash board lights up like a christmas tree, won't shut off, won't come out of park, etc. The dealer found a bad cell in the main battery and replaced it. Also replaced the RFH module and updated firmware. I didn't know enough at the time to push for aux battery replacement at the same time.

Yesterday the dash screen took about a minute to come to life. I've seen some people say that is a tell tale sign that more failure is on its way. I certainly don't want to experience that again. As a matter of habit I turn off ESS every time I start the Jeep.

I see several options at this point. What does the brain trust here recommend? Options to pursue individually or in combination:

Immediately pull fuse 42 and disconnect aux negative cable to get a potentially bad aux battery out of the mix.

Replace main battery and leave aux battery disconnected.

Load test the main battery and if ok leave in place with aux disconnected.

Replace both batteries with or without aux connected.

Do nothing now and wait for other indicators of potential failure (not real confident in this option).

Suggestions on course of action?
