Couldn't find a sub-forum for heat issues.

Most of the time, when our 2018 JLU Sport S 2.0 comes to a stop, or when in park or idle, the hot air stops blowing, and luke warm/cool air will blow until we accelerate again. It looks like the coolant reservoirs are pretty much to the line in the plastic reservoirs under the hood. Maybe just a tad low, but nothing I would think would cause any issues. Maybe 1/4" to 1/2" under the line.

Is this a common issue? I can't find anything with the mighty Google...

She just let me know that it started doing it while driving sometimes this cold season. Last year, it was just when stopped / idling. It may have some air in the system. I just saw a video on that. Not JL, but he unhooked the lines by the firewall to bleed.

Anyone have a tip(S) on where to unhook to bleed the lines for air???

If your start stop is active it does suppress the heat. Once the engine turns back on the heat resumes as normal. Same with the AC.
she turns it off every time. need to get her a Tazer

any tips on how/where to bleed the lines. I can try that tonight.
Generally you bleed air from the highest point in the system. It can help to put the front wheels on a ramp.

My 2019 always kicks on the ac compressor when in park. Ill be running vent, no ac, with middle temp setting but i go into park and the ac comes on cold. I took it to the dealer once and they claimed they couldn't get it to replicate. Yeah right. Does it every time. They "reset"the module... did nothing.

Also i notice when i try to get it to have increments between hot and cold, it's one extreme or the other until you turn it all the way up or down, then you can back off and it does the middle temps.

If you can get it to duplicate tell them to “get in and take a ride”. I did it once after getting a second “can not duplicate” when my PU would crap out under throttle. Evidently a test stroll around the auto center didn’t overtax the bad fuel pump. One good Fwy on-ramp mash is all it took.
