no access thru fire wall

while i was looking to install my cube lights. i didn't see if there was an access hole on the firewall to run my switch / wire to the interior of the jeep. am i missing it or there's no access thru the firewall. if there isn't one, what's the next best way to run the wire to the interior. i would like to install the switch next to the steering column on dash.

My buddy on the forum, Stickerhead, showed me a pass through by the brake master cylinder. A grommet/plug usually used for the clutch cable to pass through. Hang on and I’ll snap a pic.

Yes - I have a few wires running through there too, works great. I just reached under the dash and pushed it out (I couldn't get a grip on it from engine bay, hands too big I guess).

Here. A removable plastic grommet. I drilled a hole big enough for my wires, sealed it with silicone, and reinstalled.

I installed my own aux switches. Sits tight, but there’s a spot that you can get through. Cut the rubber part and use a hanger to push whatever through. It comes out under the glove box.

ukcat. i just went out and found the plastic grommet. does the grommet pops out or screw off. looking from under the dash there's plenty of room in that area. i wonder if there's a rubber grommet that would fit in place of the plastic one.

It pops out. You might could a rubber replacement plug at NAPA or your fav parts store.

I thought I had to twist it to get it out properly. Regardless, it’s not difficult.

thanks for the info. i'll see if the parts store have em. i remembered that i have on from my 07 grand cherokee. if i could only get lucky.

Easier to push it out from the inside but need to be a contortionist to do it

Not my pics but this is what it looks like. It twists out fairly easy.

here a question. should i off set the hole for the wire to go thru it or drill in the center of it for the wire. at this moment i'm running just one set of lights, so one wire will pass thru the grommet.
