Has anyone used the Megavolt 24 Jump Starter from Wolfbox? (@WOLFBOX CAR LIFE is a forum sponsor.) Can it jump an AGM battery?

When the main battery on my Jeep (2019 2.0T eTorque) died a few months ago, I had no way to jump start it. I had to run out to the auto store to buy an new battery. Good thing the Jeep was home and I wasn’t stranded somewhere. I had two jump starters at home but neither was up to the task of jumping the AGM battery. One jumper has no batteries and only uses capacitors (which is kind of cool) and the other is an old-school lead acid battery jumper.

Well, the old jumpers work just fine for jumping the battery in my Hondas but unfortunately they were not robust enough to jump start the Jeep’s 5-year old AGM main battery when it died. So, I wanted to upgrade to this Wolfbox jump starter.

Inside the box, there is:
  1. User Manual
  2. Jump starter
  3. Battery clamps
  4. USB-C wall charger
  5. USB-C to USB-C cable
  6. Storage case
The unit has an LED display screen, LED Flashlight, USB-A and USB-C ports along one edge and a port to plug in the battery clamps on the other edge. It can be used as a battery pack to charge your phones and other electronic devices. This jump starter feels very solid. The battery clamps feel solid too. Everything fits in the semi-rigid storage case. The jump starter weighs in at only 1 lb 13 ounces which seems pretty reasonable for a 4000W jumper. My brother-in-law’s NOCO feels comparable or maybe a little heavier.

Question for you smart people about testing this jumper starter... Can I test the jump starter on my Jeep by disconnecting the cables from the main battery and then connecting the jump starter directly to these cables? Should the Jeep start in this configuration? Thanks!!

I have not. Don't know how to test the jump box. I have a new battery in my Jeep. I'm wondering if I can disconnect the battery cables, connect the jump box directly, and try to start the Jeep. Any suggestions?

I can tell you that the flashlight feature works great! ?

IDK, maybe you can try it? Make sure you connect the cables right. I've seen that flashlight thing, really attracts me.

If you have a non-etorque engine with an aux battery, you need to disconnect both so that you can test the jump box.

I have a 2.0L w/eTorque. I guess that I just need to disconnect the main battery?
