I have a 2022 JLURD and haven't been able to find a mat for the rear cargo area that I like. I was waiting on the Armorlite rear cargo cover, but I can't justify that cost for what I'd get. The majority of the cargo area in my Jeep is already plastic anyway (not sure if they are all the same). I don't think I'd be gaining much by using it. I don't put anything that is dirty on top of the carpeted fenders anyway.

I never saw a rear cargo mat that I liked in two years of spontaneous looking. Any suggestions or new ones out there?

Thanks!

The one I use isn't really a mat, but I like it. It is the Dirty Dog 4x4 cargo liner. It is waterproof and covers the sides. If you fold the rear seats, it hooks to the front seats to cover the whole area and up on the doors. I've transferred it between the 3 JLs we've had. The only complaint that I might have about it is that the subwoofer is covered by it so you can get some vibration noise from that occasionally.

I have purchased WeatherTech for several vehicles over the years. Have the cargo mat in the back of my 2dr JLR. Not a perfect fit but I am happy with it. In fact just bought another set for my wife’s X5. If you do go for the front mats get the better HP model. Fit like a glove.

Really like the fitment of my WeatherTech full-length cargo mat for the 2-door, but having to cut out the hole for the in-floor subwoofer and the multiple squares to expose the tie-down hooks was a major pain in the ass. For $150 shipped, that shit should be precision-cut at their factory as a free option (if wanted).

Not wanting to butcher a brand-new mat costing that damn much took me nearly 2 hours of careful slicing, trimming and even some sanding, and it still didn't turn out as clean as I wanted.

And conversely, my HP mats front and rear really didn't fit all that well, but look great once I got them to lock into place (passenger side for both were close, but driver's side for both didn't align well at all with the factory snaps). Since everything they do is probably from the same molds, I'm guessing there was just some variation with my particular Jeep.

I didn’t cut out my backseat delete mat for the subwoofer. Found it wasn’t really necessary sound wise.

I’m thinking now that there is enough variation in the vehicle interior that ‘your results may vary’. I’m quite sure now based on reading other’s comments… the variation/tolerances for the WeatherTech products are far tighter than the Jeep’s interior.

Dang. Was originally planning on leaving the sub covered to see how it sounded, but figured it'd cause a buzzing vibration and being lazy, didn't want to take it out and put back in again (also being lazy, I installed it without actually taking the rear seat out, which probably wasn't any easier, but surprisingly worked just fine).

I’m not saying the WeatherTech cargo mat isn’t a good fit. I was just hoping it would be tight around the perimeter for the price paid. I don’t blame them, I think the variability of the Jeep interior is more than it should be. I anxiously waiting for my new mat for the X5.

I'll have to look again, but I don't recall mine being that poorly fit on the passenger side like that. The other side looks good.

My fronts look about the same, other than an annoying inward curl of the wall on the outward side. It's settled down over time, but I still occasionally catch my shoe on it. Think it's just due to the way it sagged in the box. The outward lip of my cargo mat was similar from being rolled in the box. It's not really noticeable now.

So, I too was in search of a solution to protect the rear cargo area and eventually went a different rout then Weathertech and the likes. I found a company called Canvasback online and after a little research decided to give them a shot. Their product is a poly denier fabric with urethane backing which makes it waterproof and easy to clean up with a sponge or brush.
I often find myself hauling anything that can fit in the rear of the jeep which may include putting the rear seats down at times to accommodate large items so protection for the seat backs was also a concern for me. My other concern was removing my waders, boots, and wet clothing and after a day of fishing and then storing all the gear in the cargo hold for the trip home. Believe me, it can get quite messy.
So, with all that said, I am good so far with my decision to go this route. It installed easy with hook and loop fastening and fits snugly to the edges.
