I installed two sets of rear cargo mats, one in my JL, which didn’t have trench/gap cover because my JLU Sahara has an upgraded Katzkin option so it gets a cloth config, and one in my wife’s JLU Sahara which had the gap cover already from the standard leather option. Neither set comes unsnapped when folding the seats up or down. Best video I have seen on the install:
For your Sahara with the Katzkin install, was it possible to install just the gap cover and cargo mat but not put the upper mats on the back of the rear seats? Hate the look of having the entire seat back covered but need a gap cover solution for my dog.

I guess you could but you do that. The gap cover is simply installed/snapped into a metal bracket installed behind seats. The lower mat does go up and cover that portion of the rear seat and the gap cover, about halfway up.

Read up a few posts higher in this thread. Looks like your snaps are installed backwards too. See the three semi-circular holes facing outward toward the male connector on you image? Those should be on the backside of the gap filler flap. They should look like this. Smaller hole toward the button.

I was able to pry the connectors loose. Each one has three tabs. Pop one at a time and hold up with your hand to keep from re-seating as you pop the next two. Prayed from both sides at the same time at first and got them off, but broke a tab on a couple. Prying from one side at a time seemed to work better. Even with the broke tabs, they still reattached tightly.

The correct orientation on the connectors seemed to hold the mat better. Still comes loose occasionally, but not every time as before. Hopefully it will improve with time.

Yep, I made the same mistake. Somebody has to fabricate this piece - Apparently they’d make millions. I spent too many minutes trying to find any sort of Mopar replacement part and came up blank after ordering wrong pieces based on others’ recommendations with the same problem. Now, I may try the fuck-it-and-pry method others are using here. They fall off regardless, so if I break one, oh well!
