2005 Rubicon, 2024 Rubicon X on order
So I have used my 24 Rubicon X several different times in 4lo with no issues. Last week had 3 days of off-roading. Day one no issues, in and out of 4lo - 4hi several times. Day 2, shift in to 4lo prior to an obstacle, can't get up, realize only rear wheel is spinning. Look at dash, xfer case shows N, also shows AEB not available in 4 low, so at least part of the jeep thinks it is in 4lo. I can shift between N and 4lo and feel it clunk and lock into place, but the light never changes from N, and in the 4lo position it only pushes the rear axle - really weird to me because my first instinct is linkage not allowing it to fully engage, but how is it moving the rear axle? I adjusted the linkage to allow max engagement into 4low, no change. Next day, 4low does work, but does not engage smoothly, a bit of effort and gear grind noise to engage, either stopped in trans N or slightly rolling in trans N. I do have an appt for the dealer to check it out, of course I can't replicate the not fully engaging anymore.

My main question is if the xfer is not fully engaged in 4lo, is it possible to push the rear axle only?
