2019 JLRU transfer case issues

Issues with my transfer case. I discovered my transfer case would not shift t0 and stay in 4Hi, it would go to neutral. It would shift to 4Lo. Went to dealership for something and had them look at the issue. Dealership said the transfer case needs replaced to the tune of $3900. I really think I need a second opinion. Anything I can do to remedy issue starting small/inexpensive before spending that crazy amount? i have a 2019 JLRU with 2” lift on 35 KO2s.

I’d take it to a shop that can actually diagnose the problem. Dealerships will normally stop at the smallest assembly part #. They’re not in the business of rebuilding t-cases. You’re welcome to ship the case to me but there’s got to be someone closer that can take a look at it.

I have a 2021 JLUS that after a year would pop out of 4H and into Neutral without moving the shifter. I'd be running down a trail and lose all power and the dash would indicate NEUTRAL but the shifter was clearly in 4H. Under warranty the dealership diagnosed it as an incorrectly adjusted shift cable and readjusted it. Haven't had the problem since. The problem may not be your T-Case but the shifter, cable or linkage.

Found a used transfer case for $1300. Should be a 3 beer fix once it gets here.
