I found this plug on the ground just behind the driver's side front tire, I can not figure where it goes.
Can someone help?

There’s a plug in the firewall where the clutch pedal would be if you have an automatic. People use that plug to route wires from the engine compartment into the cab. At least that’s what mine looks like. Look below your brake booster in the engine compartment for a hole

@Bugdude

@Terrymo 's info is correct.

IF you have an automatic tranny JL, you will find the removable plug on the driver's side firewall.
On the inside of the JL it is right where the clutch pedal hardware would come through.

The part number for this plug is 68336758AC PLUG-DASH.

Place the cap in the hole & rotate the cap a bit from the engine compartment side (driver's side of the JL) to secure it.

You can use a dab of silicone on the threads to help secure it to the firewall... so it does not rotate and fall off again.

Thanks!
Found it, just to the outboard side of the brake booster.
