Here's a few pics of my 2019 2 door Rubi. It's not one of your preferred colour choices, but it's something to think about ;)

It's pretty well optioned (Leather, cold weather group, Uconnect 8.4 with nav & Alpine premium audio, LED Lighting group, steel bumper group, safetytec group, advanced safety group, remote proximity, upgraded Rubi wheels). Apart from that it's pretty much stock except for some custom mounted Lund side steps, the Warn low front hoop and a few other appearance mods.

Over the years I've flip flopped back and forth between the auto and manual transmissions on my Wranglers ('88 auto, '95 manual, '06 Rubi auto, '09 Rubi manual, '12 Rubi auto). This time around I went with the 3.6L and 8 speed auto because I heard so many good things about that combination, particularly when paired with the 4.10's on the Rubicon. It's got plenty of power on the street, and feels much quicker than my 2 door 2012 JK Rubi with the 3.6L and 5 speed auto.

I also plan on going to 35's at some point in the future, but will probably just go with a small 1"-1.5" spacer lift because the Jeep rides great right now with no wandering or twitching on the highway, no dead spots in the steering, and not even a hint of death wobble.

The only other option I would have added if I had the choice is the HD Tow Package with the Aux switches, but I picked it up off the lot last December, and the price was too good to pass up.

I've owned an 86 CJ7 a couple of TJ's and a TJ unlimited all were manual transmissions... i skipped the jk and this is my first auto...i love it with the v6...

Id get the auto, cold weather group, and tow package just because you get the auxiliary switches included ....and I will say this Jeep is Miles and Miles Ahead of your 89.

mine is not a DD, but my trips to "town" are either 60 miles rt or 100 miles rt...its a great highway runner other than a lil noisy inside (epected as its a jeep)

jeep did hit a home run, as this is capable and a fun ride yet still refined for a jeep.

Im running 35in tires and 3/4in spacer...even though its not needed.... we just put a 2-inch Mopar lift on a co-worker's Jeep and it needs 37 to look proportionate....

my coworkers.....mine is the hellayella

Do u think the same holds true on the 2 doors needing the 37’s with the 2 inch lift to look right?

Two door with the 2" Mopar lift and 35's is a great combo, IMHO- actually got closer to 3". The two door with the 2.0L is a quick little ride, even with the 35's, and the turbo means I don't lose as much HP here in Colorado, where some trails regularly get you over 10,000' msl.

Ur Jeep looks great!!!! I’m heavily leaning towards ur exact set up. I was really thinking of doing the 3.6 but so many people with 35’s are saying they love the 2.0 turbo.

Thanks! We love it! And while we didn't get the Jeep because of the gas mileage, I'm regularly getting 21+ mpg with a mix of city, highway and trail driving with the 2.0. Which is helpful since the two door has a little tiny gas tank- 17.5 gallons, IIRC.

Wow that’s pretty awesome mileage for a vehicle with such big tires! I’ve read people on here saying they feel the ride of there jeep is actually better with the Mopar 2 inch and 35’s. How is urs on the toad compared to stock?

Here’s a good review to watch. I don’t think you can go wrong with either engine. For me, I liked the idea of potential mods down the road. After all, Jeep is all about optionality.

I’ve had my 2 Door Manual Rubicon V6 since May 19th and love it!

Been modifying it ever since. Current iteration pics below. Once these tires wear out I’m planning to go with the Mopar lift and 35s.

2007 JK, 2017 JKU Sahara, 2020 Firecracker Willys,
Im waiting to order a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2 door. Right now Im doing alot of reading on this site to try to learn as much as I can. Ill state what Ill be using the jeep for then any input or advice you have will be greatly appreciated. This will be my second jeep. My first was a 1989 Wrangler. Its the only vehicle Ive ever sold that I truly regret getting rid of. This new Jeep will be my daily driver to and from work. Round trip is about 40 miles total over country roads that are mostly paved but about 2 miles of unpaved. My wife and I will also use the jeep for weekend trips. Im thinking of doing the Mopar 2 inch lift but arent sold yet. If I did it later would it still be covered by warranty? Wondering if I would be happy with staying the stock Rubicon height and doing 35's. I also am debating between 35's and 37's. I really like the stock wheels and would like to stay with them. Its hard finding pictures of the 2 door rubicons with the different set ups and tire sizes. Im also between the 2.0 turbo and the tried and true 3.6. I was leaning towards the 3.6 but have heard from guys the 2.0 turbo is better with larger tires and for daily driving. Ive also drove manuals before this for most of my daily drivers but am stongly considering the automatic as my work truck is a manual and a pain in the a## to drive. Idk if I want to get into a manual jeep after a day of driving a manual at work. Of less note and on a purly asthetic standpoint Im debating between the billet silver, white, and maybe red. Any pictures of your 2 door rubicons and advice will be greatly appreciated!
I have the standard trans on the 2 dr JLR and love it. I commuted in a JK with the 6 speed for years and it was fine, but the current 6 speed is incredibly smooth, the gates are intuitive, it's a night and day improvement from the JK. We have the 2.0 mated up to the 8 speed on the Willys 2 door and it's really nice, but if you want the standard I can recommend it, I drove the JLR coast to coast and it was a very easy, no fatigue drive. For me a jeep is a two door with a standard transmission. The Sahara JKU we have, and the Willys, are both great but when it came to "my jeep" those were the deal breakers.

I have some minor upgrades, winch, otherwise the stock Rubi 2 door is pretty good to go, and very civilized in the city or on the highway. I might do a 2" lift but I'd suggest getting your order in, getting it and driving it a while, you might find the stock height and tires perfect for what you do with it. I can pull into underground parking structures, comfortably cruise at 75, and still pretty much take any trail I'd want to try.

To wrap it up, I hated red Jeeps, seriously, it's like a red Ferrari. Every time I saw a red jeep it was just so cliche to me I guess. Anyway, I have three Jeeps in varying shades of gray, Sting Gray, Granite Crystal, Light Graystone (which is a great color...) Anyway, just how it ended up over the years as I'm no big fan of gray necessarily but they looked nice. So my significant other wanted a new jeep and fell in love with a red Willys she saw, at first I wasn't excited, but when I saw it, and now that we have it, it really is a nice red, it's beautiful. I threw a pic of the red in just for reference for you. So I'd say Firecracker Red, then Silver, then Hella Yella. ;)

If I go with the Mopar 2 inch lift down the road and not at the time of order would it still be covered under warranty?

I don't know, I was not planning on a lift until the warranty was toast anyway. Sorry, no advice there, never heard of that but possible I suppose. One thing for sure, based on every experience I've had with dealers here, if they agree the lift is covered, ensure it is stipulated explicitly in the warranty and sales contract in clear language prior to taking delivery.

Didn't have it stock for very long before I put the 35's and lift on it, but I would say it actually drives better than stock. The only thing I've noticed is slightly more nose dive under heavy braking, but it's tuned very nicely for off roading, which is what we use ours for primarily. Used a Tazer JL to recalibrate the speedo.

I wonder if you can order one with 35’s already on it and have the 2 inch lift from the factory

Unfortunately you can't order it from the factory with 35's and a lift, but some dealers will swap out larger tires for you and install the Mopar lift before you take delivery of the vehicle.
