Need a stiffer ride.

How do I stiffing up the ride on my 2012 wrangler? It almost feels like I’m driving a caddy. Really soft and spongy driving on the highway. Could I just change the shocks? It has stock springs under it but a heavy bumper and wench mounted on front.

1. This forum is for 2018+ Wranglers (JL), not a JK forum. You'll get better advice at a JK forum.
2. Stiffer shocks would indeed help. Not sure about JK shocks, something like Bilstein is usually a good choice.
3. Try putting your wench on a diet. Less weight on the front bumper is equivalent to stiffer shocks/springs as you will have less compression over bumps.

Shocks.. you want soft springs and firm shocks to control the springs. However, you want to match those springs with shock valving, which means you want ADJUSTABLE shocks.

If you don't mind spending $1500+ on adjustable shocks, carry on with your perfect ride experiment.

Even with a fully stock suspension, adjustable shocks are a huge improvement.

Same goes for JK's.. all vehicles.
