Planning a group ride again summer 2026

Hey guys,

Last August there were 8 or 9 of us that did Red Cone, and pretty sure everyone had a blast. I'm hoping to do something similar this summer again.

Anyone else want to pick the location this time, as I picked last time. .. Unfortunately I cannot make Easter Jeep Safari in MOAB as the wife has a pretty strict bidding procedure for vacation (nurse) where she has to bid on vacation 4 times a year, in 3 month increments. She will be bidding on summer vacation soon, so hoping to bid for vacation whatever dates we as a group can decide to plan a jeep trip.


Going to tag everyone that went to Red Cone last year as that was a fricken blast;

I was thinking about possibly trying to do Holy Cross at some point this year. Was thinking about Sept. 12th since I will be around CO at that time.

Also. .. I have 4 weeks vacation to burn .. I'm down for Holy Cross for sure. . and can also plan another trip more in the middle of the summer as well .. If anyone has other plans as well .. . Just throwing out ideas.

Holy Cross has been on my list for a while now.. Sounds super fun!

Sadly, I'll be trading the jeep in tomorrow. Easily the most fun I've had with any vehicle I've ever owned, but my neck problems have made it too painful to offroad any longer.

I appreciate you all including me in your Red Cone run and I'll check in from time to time to stay up to date on your adventures.

Damn! We will be pulling for your neck to heal. Having to jettison the Jeep because of it sucks. But it could happen at any time to any one of us. We should count our blessings, every day.

Other than that, I would be up for a road trip this summer. Not familiar with Holy Cross, but interested. I'll research it and stay tuned to this thread to see how it develops.

Im in for a wheeling weekend for sure Kelly Flats and Holy Cross are the 2 big "extreme" trails in Colorado but there are TONs of other trails that are a blast as well.

To be honest, I'm a little scared (very very terrified) of Holy Cross, have you guys done it before? or is this the first time for everyone? Either way I'm 100% down for going.

Does anyone want to make this a 2-3 days of wheeling and throw in some softer trails?

I'm coming from Minnesota, so I'll probably stay for a week or so. .

I have not done it, but I'm not really scared of it, not to say I wouldn't be nervous day of. I'm not married to Holy Cross, but it is on my short list.

I’d be down to join a group run for a day, and possibly an overnight in Colorado. We just got back this weekend from a few days in Moab. It was a great time. We got the pleasure of running with @Ltv for a couple days. I’d certainly do it again.

Hey everyone, the wife just finished bidding on vacation, (needs to bid every 4 months, very strict calling in policy) so we now know what days off we have from June-Sept.

@gek Unfortunately she was unable to secure any days in Sept, so I'm a hard no for those dates, which really sucks. ..

I am more than willing to do Holy Cross any of the below dates, potentially at the tail end of the July trip, on my way back to MN. Maybe any days July 15th - 17th? Or anytime in July if the Rubicon doesn't pan out. (not my first choice, more of a last resort)

We have the following dates off, if anyone is also free those dates and wants to plan something together;

June 4th - 8th - If nothing else comes up, we may give the "Top of the Ozarks" group ride a go, assuming there's spots open still.

July 3rd - 18th - If nothing else comes up, and again not my first choice, we may book the Rubicon Jeep Jamboree from July 10th - 12, even though I believe it's probably overpriced, and not the best setting with the huge massive group?

Not an absolute no, but would be more of a game time decision. Currently it looks like a no though.
