If you manage to get it up to 88, you're going to see some serious shit...
I did manage to bounce mine of the top speed limiter once.. but it was only 94 in an 85. I was trying not to get run over by a semi in middle of nowhere Texas.

Hmm well I guess I'll learn soon enough. I'm hoping to install my Rubi t-case by end of October.

On another note I don't think I've ever gotten my Jeep up to 85 mph. 😂

I was thinking that too….i need a license plate that says “slowAF”. I don’t typically go over 65 but about 70 is my max…drives my wife and kids crazy 😂

Driving out in Utah the speed limit out there is sometimes 80mph. I just get into the right lane and watch was everyone passes me.

That stretch of I70 is fun. You get people going 60-70, usually in the slow lane. I usually run it at 80. A lot of times, I get passed by people going quite a bit faster than me. Like 10-20+ faster than me.

I find that out there my cruise control just can't keep up. i'll set it to 75 and any incline at all the engine can't handle it and I slow down to 60 and have to downshift.

I think I might have an issue with the flux capacitor. I tried and nothing special happened.

I'll have to look next time I take the Jeep out and see. I don't drive it very often anymore.
Fair enough. I just came back from a tour of Arkansas, and above 70, I never really needed to shift out of 6th to maintain speed uphill... the switchbacks are another story..

I definitely haven't done any long enough stretches to try out the cruise control in 6th since the new engine went in. I have a potential road trip to Utah in the distant future and that would really be my first chance to test it out.

Okay so I’m trying to wrap my brain around this…

Dana 44
3.73 gears
Steel C’s
Lift 2.5”

Current weight of my 35’s is 72lbs per tire

Weight of a light set of 37’s is 68lbs per tire

I sort of understand rotational mass but is it that big of a deal since the tire is actually lighter?

Saying that I’ve seen people wheel with 3.45 gears and Dana 30/35’s and 37’s but I know that doesn’t mean it’s good for any type of longevity.

Everything I’ve read says 4.88’s or 5.13’s for 37’s so I understand that’s the reasonable/smart thing to do.

Just wanted to understand better and see what some real world wheelers think.

Odds are I’ll probably go 35’s again but I’d love to throw a set of 37’s on there.
I would try 37's and see how you like it. Some people's level of undrivable is other people's level of fine. Not sure you're level of wheeling but that is where you might start having issues or breaking stuff. For me, I want to go through the process: try it stock, upgrade slightly, realize it sucks or break stuff, then repeat.

Takeoffs can be sold and or at some shops returned with a period of time.

A few months ago we took the back roads, which are hilly for Texas, on a couple hundred mile trip. I couldn't keep it at 70 with cruise control in 6th with the hills. It was either run in 5th, constantly shift, or just let it drop 10 mph below with every hill.

Edit: Oh yeah, I typically don't even go for 6th until at least 75mph.
