I'm with you on that LarryB. I'm stock Sport S with the stock Goodyear AT Kevlar tires. They handle snow and rain and light off road great and I get over 22 mpg on the freeway, about 19 mixed and 17 stop and go short hops to the store. But it doesn't look cool. Sometimes that makes me sad, and sometimes it doesn't. Does that mean I'm bipolar?

2022 JLR 2.0 turbo, been averaging 21 mpg on stock 33" tires for the first 500 miles. Combination city and highway but does not seem too fluctuate much between the two.

Check of the local Craigslist shows almost all new take off stock sized wheels and tires getting bought up fast.

My sister sold her Sport S wheels with 255/75/17 all seasons for $400, two days ago. They had 19k miles on them and she had two buyers wanting them. Not a take off Rubicon suspension to be found, unless for a JT.

A year ago those wheels and tires would have been hard to sell at $250, new.

4-door 3.6 averages 19.2 on mostly in-town driving over 3 years. ESS is overridden to 'off'. I recently made a trip and saw 22mpgs in cold weather and windy conditions which was surprising in the ragtop.

Daughter has a Honda Passport from the same year, same size engine and slightly less HPs. Granted it's just FWD and not shaped like a brick but it only averages 4-5mpgs better than my Wrangler.

Is the title of this thread an oxymoron? ?
I own a Jeep. I have no mpg expectations. Pretty much anything I do to it other than removing the back seat entirely will hurt mpg.

I’ve never seen anything over 17 in my rubicon. I’m all stock except a brawler bumper and winch with synthetic line. If I set the cruise at 55 I may get 19 if the wind is blowing me.

I'm hoping for 18 plus if possible. The 35's won't help but who knows.
My first turbo engine is my '20 Ford Ranger. Took me a bit to find out why it was getting low mpgs. I realized that I was putting my right foot in the turbo when starting from a stop. After a while I got used to the thing, and all is well now. These little turbo engines are amazing. Good gas mileage, and very quick when you need to go. :)

2021 2dr 80th Edition with 7000 miles. 2.0 turbo with the 8spd auto. Mixed city and highway driving averaging 24mpg so far. I featherfoot it to get better mileage and I keep at 65 on the highway because I've noticed that the mileage plummets at any speed above that.

As for the ESS, I hardly notice it. Works seamlessly on mine. Saving a little gas and cutting a little on emissions is OK with me.

My only mods are 33" tires and sway bar disconnects. No lift.

I wondered why my mpg meter was slowly ticking backwards when I was sitting at idle....now I know.
