Again, most that move back there are from there originally and most are moving back there because they can't afford a house in CA. Just because you move from CA doesn't mean that you are a liberal any more that living in Utah makes you a self-righteous Utard.

I said not all of them. Heck I'm not from here, I moved from NC. I admit I was being a little broad with that statement but we've seen first hand Californians bringing a "we need to make this place more better" mentality and it's not welcome. The point I was trying to make is don't move somewhere and try to make it like where you came from.
Also it's not just southern UT, it's the entire state. When your governor tells Californians to stop moving to your state it may be indicative of a problem. Not the CA way of life problem but an over growth problem...

When I heard the governor of Utah say that, I knew I wanted to move to Utah. I wish governor Abbott would have said that years ago. Texas is being ruined.

I went to Moab in 2020 and flew into St George in January to drive home a JL. The area was absolutely beautiful. I sat next to an older gentleman that told me all about the area and its rapid growth. When I made it home, I asked members on another forum for suggests with some prerequisites. My current 10 year plan is sell from the current shit hole I live in and move to the Texas Hill Country or Utah. Loosely looked at properties in Price, Beryl, St George if it wasn’t so expensive, and Enterprise. Would love a 100-200 acre slab.

I would be happy with 1/2 acre and a tiny house. Yeah I’m excited to see what’s out there for me. Have to take risks in life otherwise you aren’t living life. I would have left sooner, but stayed in Texas for the time that my parents health declined. I honored my promise to them. I feel like losing them at same time was rough, but I’m lucky it didn’t drag out for months or years.

Howdy neighbor!!! We are in the process of building out in Old Iron Town which is still considered Cedar City even though it's 25 mins west. The entire state has had a rough winter with plenty of rain and snow but now the reservoirs are near capacity which is a good thing. You made the right choice, Cedar (as the locals call it) is a beautiful town with plenty of out doors stuff. Wait till you check out Duck Creek.
When will you be moving? We should be finished building by July.

I definitely will be down there. It was on my list but I want to avoid heat as much as possible. That’s one of the reasons I’m leaving Dallas.
