I camp 10+ times per year and cook outside unless the weather is really bad, I have been using a folding camp kitchen but after a few years it's getting pretty beat up so I was starting to plan something else. I camp both with a trailer and tent depending on who is going and where it is, so figured something in the back off the jeep would work for both.

Morryde just released their trail kitchen for the jku, but after talking with them and making a few measurements I was pretty sure I could get it to fit a jlu. The kit they supply comes with 4 rivnuts that get installed in the floor (and they have a no drill kit coming for the jku), but I ended up making my own "no drill" install kit - I drilled a hole in the trail kitchen and made a bracket, but no modifications to the jeep.

Works pretty well, takes about 30 seconds to deploy vs a couple of minutes (and some swearing) for the old one. It uses 2 of the mounts for the cargo hold downs and one of the bolts for the under floor tray. I plan to extend the mount to use two of the under tray bolts but I didn't have a long enough piece of metal lying around to do so. I had to space it up half an inch to clear a rear trim piece, but it all works. I'll get some shots tomorrow of it in use. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being changing oil and 10 being changing Ferrari timing belts (the toughest thing I've tackled), it's about a 3.

Nice set up.
Where did you purchase this from?

BTW I used to live in Richmond, VA.
Loved it. Miss it.

Can the stove store in the lower portion?
My stove is around 1/8" too wide to fit, otherwise it could - single burner stoves would fit easily. My double burner coleman is too wide (by about 1/4") but also too tall. That's really my only gripe, but it's a minor one as instead I store the coffee equipment and cooking utensils in there so it's not wasted space. The cargo bin under the floor is also fully useable.

In December MORryde sent me a preproduction Trail Kitchen Sink option to test. It included a countertop with cutout for a collapsible sink, a faucet, a demand pump and related hardware, hoses, quick disconnect fittings and a way to adapt a quick disconnect fitting to a Rotopax container for a water source.

The other day they called me to update me on a number of things. The first news was that the Trail Kitchen Sink Option is now in production and available. It hasn't reached dealers yet; it's expected to show up at places like Retrofit Offroad and Quadratec soon, but they said it can be purchased directly from MORryde now. They didn't have the pricing off the top of their head on the call so they said they'd sent it to me when they got back from Jeep Beach.

Another product they told me is now available is the Power Panel. It's intended for the Trail Kitchen but it can mount to the rear roll bar so it doesn't require the MORryde kitchen, it can be used as a general power source. It's now on their web site although I'm not sure that this is a final production photo of it:

I've been using a preproduction power panel for a long time (since before the pandemic slowed things down at MORryde); I've got it mounted to the side of the Trail Kitchen. Mine isn't quite stock, I swapped one of the outlets for an ARB outlet (also compatible with my Dometic plugs) that provides a very secure screw connection so the plug can never come loose on a rough trail.

Another way mine isn't stock is that I've got two meters in it, I was testing two different types of meter for them. The production version only has one meter on the front, mine has the extra one on the top. I don't know which meter type the production panel has.

And they also said their Trail Kitchen Charging Kit (not sure that's what they'll be calling the final product) is very close (the pandemic really slowed this one down). The charging kit is designed to charge a kitchen battery mounted in the back near the kitchen. It charges a kitchen battery when the Jeep is running and disconnects the kitchen battery from the Jeep's electrical system when the Jeep isn't running so the kitchen can never drain the main starting battery of the Jeep.

How much room do you have on the right hand-side next to the slide of the Trail Kitchen? I'm thinking of buying the Morryde Trail Kitchen and then building a platform next to it with an extra drawer and a sleeping platform on top.

Just under half of the width, but if you got creative it could be moved a bit more to the left leaving a bit over half of the width. I sold my jl (for a jtr) but still have the Trail Kitchen if you're interested in it.

Just FYI, MORryde tells me they are about to release a new option for the Trail Kitchen - an enclosure that covers the fridge. It's got a MOLLE grid on the side and also holes for a Rotopax mount (for a water supply for the Trail Kitchen Sink Option). Height is adjustable to suit different height fridges.
