I did on the bolts on the rings on my AEV Borahs.

Yes I do. If not you will get corrosion between the wheel and bolt. I remove my rings about every 3 or 4 months to touch up and before I used antisieze I was seeing corrosion on the wheel threads. I also switch the rings to use the wheel as a true bead lock.

no; the installation instructions don't call for anything on the threads.

using anything on the threads would require an adjustment for the torque specs that most of us haven't the wherewithall to calculate.

Does the “Fake” protection ring need to be torqued down, or just the true beadlock ring?

You are bolting steel bolts into an aluminum wheel in a wet, sometimes salty environment. If you don’t use anti-seize, the bolts will eventually seize in the wheels due to corrosion of dissimilar metals. If you unbolt them fairly often then not an issue but most people don’t.

Absolutely yes, I applied never seize liberally to all of my trim rings bolts.

Yes, i did when I put them on 4 years ago. Have not had a reason to take them off yet so I can't comment on that.

I removed one of the bolts on mine after almost 5 years of MN roads, there was no corrosion in the threads.

I do when I had the XR wheels and now on the KMC bead locks. Rather than using the brush that comes with the anti-seize and putting it in the bolts and having it wind up everywhere else, I use these to put the anti-seize on the internal threads of the wheel itself. A lot less messy and you can use the left overs to touch up your lip gloss.
