I personally like the Rock Hard 4x4 sliders for best-of-all-worlds performance. I purchased the angled-down tubes for a better step. They are completely sealed, so no open ends or tubes or plastic caps. That's important in bad salty, slushy Montreal winters. I did not worry about the body bolts, but I had a shop do the install so they could put it on a lift.

I have these angled up and they have seen some pretty hard wheeling. Wife and kids use them regularly.

If you can excuse the blinding whiteness of my leg, here's a size 13 on the same rails on my Gladiator. As others have said, it's not a full step, but it's enough. If your wife absolutely needs to put her entire foot and all of her weight onto something to get in, look elsewhere. If she just needs a little something extra while using the grab bar, these are perfect.

I have had the Mopar Performance rock rails on multiple JLs and Gladiators and absolutely love them. I don’t use them as a step as I’m too tall to do so, but they are great for shorter people who ride along to get in, and they are also great at keeping rocks that get kicked up from hitting the hinges and the side of the door. I will put them on every Jeep I buy.

Want to keep the stock Rubicon sliders as I like how they look. But my wife is struggling hard getting in and out of my Jeep. I had the Rock Hard 4x4 Patriot sliders on my JKU and I liked them. Was going to just get another set but was kinda of scared off due to all the body bolt breakage horror stories. So pivoting to the Mopar Performance Sliders, but there seems to be so little information on them. Looks like a small step, does anyone own these and can speak to the usefulness of the step or maybe even provide a picture of the step in use? It's hard to grasp how much of a step is even available and how sturdy it is.

With my use I don't wheel hard enough anymore to be pivoting off of sliders, I only keep them for insurance if I make a mistake and come down on a rock or something. So I feel they could hold up to that kind of use, but it's not clear to me. I HATE the look of the pinch seam which is what drove me to the RockHard's in the beginning.

Thanks for any help.
I have ACE rock rails and was also concerned about body bolt breakage. I emailed a few Jeep dealers requesting a quote, and ended up having them installed for only $100.

I had these for a little while and sold them. They look like a straight forward simple step that offers protection from rocks and door dings and it would've been perfect for me if they were an inch wider. they are slippery when wet and I've slipped on them a few times. Be mindful of your loved ones on these. They're barely a step and when they're wet you gotta be extra careful. That's why I sold them.

I've had Mopar's for a few years and have one complaint about them: rocks constantly get stuck between the rail and body. I've had to stand on the rails while someone removes the rocks. These rocks can cause paint chips and probably damage to the body if a rock gets stuck and vehicle weight is put on the rails. I wouldn't buy them again.

What kills me is that companies could include higher grade bolt kits for a low cost, and don’t. When I owned a Tacoma, the company I used for sliders sent this elaborate kit of bolts and plates for install, and re-used one OEM bolt that barely threaded during install, and generally broke anyways. So frustrating.

Edit: Just watched a video on how to cut these things out. What a mess.
