Mopar floor liners

Did they already have them installed? Was the hole already cut for the liner to go in?

Based on some of his pics in another thread, it doesn't look like the holes are cut

Carpet didn't look cut but hole is there for Mats but didn't investigate the carpet closely. Will look in am.

One auto show attendee stated that the carpet has pre-cut plugs in the carpet. Easy to remove for the floor liner drains. The description is here somewhere in the forum.

Do you have to pop up the plug in order to drain or do they automatically drain with no manipulation?

If they drain automatically, I see this as a cool feature especially if melted snow drains automatically. The only problem I see is if the seal between the liner and the floor pan gets compromised causing water to penetrate underneath the liner on the carpet since the drain plug is now relocated from the floor pan to the top of the liner.

I do prefer a full high wall liner like weathertech that also protects under the gas and brake pedals. These mopar liners do not appear to protect under the gas pedal, but I could be wrong.

I just called Weathertech. The customer service rep has no idea when the JL products will be available.

Do you use the plugs that are already in the floor on the Mopar mats? My dealer didn't know how to install them, so they didn't cut the carpet and there are no plugs for the holes. I'm guessing the existing floor plugs are just moved to the mats?

Yes, the carpet is pre cut to accept the downspout built into the mat. So after finishing the carpet cuts (they leave a tiny bit of fabric holding the carpet in place, you reach through that hole and pull the Jeeps drain plug out. Then the mat drain spout fits perfectly in the Jeeps drain hole which makes the mat snaps stay in place and level because everything is nice and flat. You can be driving now, and pour a beverage down the mat hole and it will run out of the Jeeps drain plugs. :cwl:

I have to look again. Does the floor plug fit into the mat to close it?

Kinda the opposite, the mat drain hole fits down into the Jeeps floor plug hole.

Yes, but I mean the plug or cap for the hole. Once the mat is pushed down in there, can it be capped or closed with the floor drain plug cap? Sorry, it's just hard to describe what I'm getting at.

So you leave the opening open.....does it look like there is a 1-way valve in there?
