Nope, you are correct they don't provide as much coverage as needed, Quadratech carries some that cover the entire painted area...

that is a great idea and you can cover more. I think I’ll do that or get a color vinyl.

It works great. I used clear so it looks like nothing there. Invisible protection. I highly recommend it.

You don't get water under the mat with the plug on top of the mat? Seems like you get a better seal with the plug below the mat.

My question is this, does the mat go under the plastic piece? That’s what it looks like in one of the pictures. Seems like it would work better, no gap in between.

I didn't take the stock sill guards because they're too small. I went with Rugged Ridge, they cover the entire sill, not just the horizontal part.
