Not the same but.
Rubicon swap with springs and shocks. Shocks were decent on street, but awful on trails. Swapped in some 2-3” Bilstens and the ride is immensely better. I’ve got a 2 door with at least an extra 120 pounds in the front and 100 in the rear, riding D rated toyos at about 38 psi. I feel the bumps but it’s not bad. Off road I noticed I didn’t have a sore back for a week like I did with the rubicon shocks.

Bilstein 5100s ordered. Found a bit of a deal. They were also back in stock. So ordered. For the price, they're worth trying out. I already have the Mopar 2.0 springs installed.

I pieced my kit together, 2-3” 5100s with Clayton 1.5” springs, very light 2dr and 35s. Very happy with the ride on and off road.

Not a fan of Bilstein 5100 shocks. I find them overly stiff no matter what springs you pair them with.
Apparently if you have them custom valved for your rig they are much better. But that has not been my experience with either JK or JL.

Stiff compared to what? What's been your preferred shock?

My preferred are Metal Cloak RockSport, or Rancho RM9000XL adjustable. I’ve tried Fox, and Bilstein 5100 not a fan. Even on triple rate springs they are too harsh.

I have the mopar lift but the only things left from the lift are the coils and fox shocks. New control arms, sway bar links, track bars, tie rod, draglink, I should’ve pieced it together but I hear the mopar lift fox shocks are about the cost of the entire lift when purchased separately.
Why did you swap the mopar sway bar links? Curious if there’s an issue there as I am trying to piece a kit together myself and was going to use mopar coils and sway bar links

Interesting setup, might be worth it as a wallet friendly option. I run bilstein 6112 fronts and 5160 rears on my f150 and the setup rides great, handles great and does well offroad. Definitely going to consider bilsteins for the JL too.

I don't know about the lifted height shocks you asked about, but I do have the 0-1.5" 5100's on my stock height sahara and they are awesome on the highway.

I installed these yesterday evening. Did have to bend the front brake hose bracket up a bit as the hoses were stretched a little too tight at full droop. From the Fox 392 I had on, the 5100s are 2 1/8” longer in front and 2 3/8” longer in rear (from AnnDee’s shock matrix). So gaining some lost flex from when I added extra bump stop to fit 37s. I'm running the Mopar 2" lift springs and the Mopar LCAs.

(Turns out the Foxes were pretty worn out after 20-25K miles. Hardly any gas pressure.)

Ride on the 5100 is pretty good. Seeing conflicting comments so wasn’t sure what to expect. They are only $400 a set afterall.

Firmer feel on impacts but not harsh. There’s a “roundness” I like to call it. Firm but not harsh. Great body control. From my limited time on them they feel good.

We’ll see how they do as I get more time on them and and eventually go wheeling with them also.

A few more days on the 5100s. Definitely liking the ride quality. Good support and body control. But a plush feeling hitting bumps and square edges. I’m on 37 KO2s load range D at 28 psi cold.

Here’s some flexing… because why not ?

Actually was checking to make sure no rubbing or pulling hoses and wires…

Nice one !!! Really appreciate your input! Which offset you have on your wheels ? You changed your hood decals. Was it easy ?
