Spare is held on with 3 lugs, 2 of which are what also hold the relocation bracket in place. So you remove 2 small bolts that go into the two extended lugnuts, the 3 lugs themselves and the bracket/light dangles til you remount the spare. So, nothing extra to remove to get spare off.

Suggest watching this video before doing the CHMSL Relocation Kit install. You will find that the pictures in the kit's install instructions will make a little more sense if you have watched this video first.

Installed this kit on my stock 2dr. Rubi JL. Looks great! Install time was about 20 mins.

But what happens if you have the complicating factor of moving the license plate and the brake light too.

My plans call for installing the Mopar hinge reinforcement kit and the Mopar oversize spare tire relocation kit. I am trying to keep the stock backup camera housing. But the Mopar kit for brake light relocation takes the two lugs that I planned on using for the Artec license plate relocation

http://www.artecindustries.com/JL_License_Mount

So with this approach I left with little choice on how to relocate both the brake light and the license plate. I'm not bothered by having to run new wires for the license plate light, I did something similar on my JK.

Has anyone thought of using this kit to mount a rear facing off road backup light? Obviously not a light you would want to wire to come on with reverse, but on an aux switch?

Seems like a slim mount led in that position would be great for backing up off road or a camp/work light?

Not sure why you are posting this in a dedicated thread entitled "Mopar CHMSL Relocation Kit Part Number: 82215349".
I personally myself do not like the round brake lights. I know a lot of people use them on the JL I think relocating it with the stock light and put it in the middle of the spare tire is pretty cool with the little bracket that looks like the front of the jeep
