Reinstalled the rings at home in the garage after DT mounted and balanced.. Zero balance issues, zero stripped threads, zero scratches, zero “oops.”Have any balance issues, or do you install then get them balanced ?
Some say yes . . . some say no. I removed mine myself to remove all doubt and ensure zero problems. This is one of those controversial topics which will have answers all over the place. Different chains have different equipment, different policies, and different employee talent. I prefer to pop a cold one, break out the quarter inch ratchet, kick some tunes, and remove them myself. Admittedly, I’ve only done this twice, but my strategy remains unchanged.
DT (AT) removed mine, fortunately they didn’t charge extra, but some reportedly have been. Jeep needs a written policy for us to show tire shops and settle this ongoing issue …… balance issues, or did you reinstall first ?Didn't have mine removed when they swapped tires at Discount Tire
The beauty rings have to be removed before having the tires pulled off correct? Just figuring this out before I get to the tire shop.
Thanks for responding. Hopefully this will clear the confusion for those who had questions. The rings do not have to be removed for service. I will, however, remove them if a customer requests it.
Not sure on "Beauty Rings"The beauty rings have to be removed before having the tires pulled off correct? Just figuring this out before I get to the tire shop.
Not your universal policy as it should be unless changed in the last year as mine were removed without request. The rings do not have to be removed for service. I will, however, remove them if a customer requests it.
