Hello, I have a 24 2 door Wrangler with a 2.5 lift and 35’s (no lockers). I have ran some moderate trails before (Backway to Crown King, Broken Arrow) but I had spotters when needed for those. I am planning a trip to Moab from August 23-24 and wanted to run Top of The World, Poison Spider, and Fins and Things. I will be running other easier trails but these are the harder trails that I am worried about since it will just be myself and my sister, who has no off roading experience but wanted to go for her birthday. Any pointers would be appreciated and if anyone wants to tag along please reach out.

Fins/Hells is all slick rock and won't be bad without a spotter if you are comfortable in the seat. Plenty busy so you won't be alone long if something happens.

TOW has gotten a little rougher over the last few years, and it's a ways out, I'd recommend at least waiting for a group to follow.

I've solo'd poison, but my wife has several years of spotting experience. I'd recommend a group or at least an experienced spotter.

Make sure you have Sat Comms like an inreach, you'll be without signal at both TOW and Poison.

If you're on Facebook you can join the Moab Friends For Weelin' group to find people to link up with.

Also, you didn't mention Hells Revenge but if you were on the fence about it watch the trail guide done by Colorado4x4. He does an excellent job of walking you through the obstacles:

I’ll be doing all four of those trails on the 27th, 28th, and 29th if you decide to delay your trip. Just thinking out loud.

I did all of those trails in June of this year and TOW was much tougher than in years past. I have done it a bunch and this year it was tough. I am on 35's but have lockers. Poison spider is also tough but has a gate keeper at the very start so if you have trouble with that you might not enjoy the water falls...Fins and things will cause you no problems....Even if your sister has no experience you can teach her quickly how to spot you. instruct her where you want to put your tires and have her guide you that way. physically show her exactly where you want your front tires and she will catch on pretty quickly..

I wish but I won’t be able to delay it. Enjoy your trip!

I wish someone here would have warned me about staying out of the Moab mud. Never again will I run through the Moab mud. Part of that will forever be a part of my jeep now 😭

Note taken. Hopefully the skies are clear when I’m there.

We will be there the 19th through the 23rd if you come a little earlier. We are planning on running poison Spyder. I've run fins and things and hells revenge a ton. Id definitely do some of those trails with you. We will be solo too.

Nevermind, just realized this is an old thread! We will be there this Friday night til Wednesday.
