Moab - October? Ouray - September?

We are planning to be in Colorado in mid-October, maybe head over to Moab. When is it too late to hit the alpine passes in Colorado?

Some more experienced may know more but just depends. It actually snowed there on Monday or Tuesday already but still passable. Just depends on weather.

I’m trying to plan out my third day in the SJM. The first two days include black bear and last dollar; Imogene and ophir. I’m trying to fit the following in the third day: mineral creek, alpine loop (engineer and cinnaminomin), stony pass and some stuff around animas forks. Any ideas on what’s possible for day 3?

Nice. I’ll be heading back to atlanta on the 18th. But next month Moab 10/12-10/16.

Left Moab Thursday, in Ouray right now. Imogene Pass is closed. Did Ophir today, snow and ice at the pass. Black Bear tomorrow before heading back to Houston.

Imogene should just be closed at the telluride side only. Start from Ouray and turnaround at tomboy.
