2022 Rubicon with all kinds of factory electrical voodoo on it. The only ads I’ve put on so far are a Warn winch and a GMRS radio, both wired directly to the battery. No previous issues with them.
I’m on day 3 of the Washington BDR so near constant 4x4, but slow and steady.
Today both of my exterior mirror warning lights came on and stayed on. I’ve checked for debris, dirt, bugs, etc but it looks clear.
Any ideas? Is it trying to warn me about something else sneaking up on me?

I have had that happen as well, it seems to happen when the tail lights get really dusty. I believe the blind spot sensors are in the tail light housing and when they are dusty they don't work.

Usually they will clear up once you are off the trail.

Enjoy the WABDR, I have run the middle sections and the scenery is beautiful!

Totally normal when driving through areas with obstacles on either side for extended periods. Once you’re back to civilization, or a clear open area, shut the Jeep off, restart, and you should be fine.

Every time I’ve had the blind spot monitor warming fault indicator it has had to do with poor signal from the tail light sensors. Thoroughly cleaning both sides then toggling the warning off in settings, cycling the ignition off then on, driving a bit, and reactivating the system has cleared it. YMMV.

Bingo! I had cleaned the mirrors but hadn’t thought about the taillights.
thanks much. I’m just about to drop into Ellensburg northbound. Great spot so far - highly recommended.

Mine has done it on 3 separate occasions for no real good reason. Everything was clean and no obstructions, just normal driving. Turning the jeep off/on fixes the issue but I am always waiting for it to happen again.

The other day my ACC said it was unavailable and needed service. I don't even use that feature but it also killed normal cruise control as well until the Jeep was cycled off/on. I have no idea what caused that to flake out.

The guys hit it on the head for my problem. Just dirty (dusty) taillights.
I now have the cleanest taillights (and mirrors) on the trail.

That’s usually the problem. It’s black plastic parts of the tail lights is what needs to be cleaned; the mirrors are just the indicator lights.

If your getting ACC fault messages, check the windshield area directly in front of the sensor first.

Both the windshield and taillights were extremely clean and free of obstruction when these events occurred. This is the bain and blessing of owning a JL......I want the simplicity of my YJ but appreciate the bells and whistles of the JL..........until sensors need medication.

It's actually not dirt or debris causing this. If you are doing constant trails in 4x4 at low speeds, the BSM automatically disables. You can shut off and restart and it will be fine, but after constant crawling it will disable again.

This makes total sense to me because I only encounter this issue while driving on a particular bridge in my area. No other times do I encounter it

My light stays on because I swap the blind spot sensor from the oem taillight to an aftermarket.i wire it according to the diagram .yellow wire ( I believe ground) from the sensor " jump " it to the purple wire.is that correct?

Same think happened to me after departing a fast food drive thru lane. Turning off the engine and restarting returned them to normal operation.
