Hi all,

I have a 2018 JLUR. I noticed that my passenger mirror no longer adjusts left to right. It does adjust up and down though. Is this an issue with the mirror adjust switches or a problem with the motor driving the mirror?

Is this easily repairable or do I need to take it to the dealer?

Have you had your door cables disconnected lately? If so, it may be a bent pin. Been there, done that.

I'd echo that. If you've ever removed the doors, check the door cable harness connections and pins.

Wow! I actually didn't know jeeps even had electric mirrors, interesting. Well keep in mind this is coming from an old fart with manual windows & locks. It's got to be on the Rubicon models I'm guessing.

John, I will have you know I'm 36 with a manual with non electric door locks and crank windows.

But I may have been born in the wrong generation.

I love manual windows & locks on a Wrangler, they never break. I think they are especially convenient for those who like the top down and doors off.

Yes!
I'm the only one that drives it so the mirrors are set to never move from their current setting. The soft top means I almost never lock it anyway. The manual transmission is a pretty good milennial/GenZ/(awkward)GenX anti-theft device. And my doors are also off as often as I can manage when the weather is cooperating!

I also plan to own it for a very long time. Likely one of if not The last manual I'll ever be able to buy new - so I plan to have it in my possession when I die. lol

I checked the harness and all looks good so it must be in the mirror motor itself

@Nik H

If you conclude it is the mirror itself, replacing the side mirror is easy easy... Do not go to the dealer, do that replacement yourself..

Purchase an OEM side mirror on eBAY, the dealer, etc., and do the replacement yourself. New side view mirror with power/defrost is about $130+-.

Read here and also watch the video..

Thanks for that info. I will definitely do it myself.

Maybe you've already done this, but if not, pull the mirror off and then check the pins on the mirror side plug for power on the appropriate pins when the mirror switch is activated. It's pretty common for a wire to break inside the harness where is bends when the door is closed.

Sorry to necro this thread, did you end up figuring out what it was? My jeep is having the exact same issue all of a sudden.

Had a friend that used to mess up the setting on my TJ mirrors, strange enough he stopped doing that after I jammed some pebbles into the back of his Grand Cherokee auto mirrors.
