Just keep in mind when shocks are listed as 2-3.5" lift (or whatever), that's above a rubicon—not how much lift your specific Jeep got. This is true for most of shocks out there, and all the exceptions I know of (like OME) list both with a 1" difference.
Correct what he said, so take your measurements subtract the diagram measurements plus an inch and that’s your lift height. So 24-21 puts you at about a 3” lift shock. The other thing you can do is look at the extended and compressed length of the shocks, and try to find one where 24” is roughly the middle, I wouldn’t suggest buying the shock solely of this but it may help a little.

Ok finished installing the RS7MT shocks and here is my opinion. Mind you I had the 9000xl adjustable on the jeep prior. The 9000XL set to the middle setting, handling was improved over stock but the big factor was it was much more comfortable and less harsh going over bumps or ruts on the highway. The Jeep was a joy to drive. Now the RS7MT (Black body), handling was improved over the 9000xl but road feedback was also increased but not in a bad way. You can feel the bumps and ruts on the road which is expected from a mono-tube designed shock. When going over bumps and ruts on the road, you can feel them but it's less harsh than stock. So basically you get a more sporty ride with the RS7MT. If your looking for comfort then go with the 9000XL I'll do some more driving tomorrow.

If you want to do the right thing for your particular application and ride, I would contact a reputable off-road suspension company. Most of them will help you out. Some, like Accutune Off-Road, will not over sell you anything that you don't need.

Be careful with the wannabe Suspension Experts on this forum that bought a set of cheap Pandaland counterfeit shock absorbers from a discount warehouse operation that specializes in cheap junk and think they are the best and don't know the difference in a quality shock and a burnt biscuit.

"stiff" shocks can be useful for towing, switchbacks at speed, emergency evasive maneuvers, and controlling top-heavy expedition rigs. I have Bilstein 5100. Good handling but not exactly a comfy ride. Not horrible, but not floaty-boaty either.
Stiff shocks will cause handling issues. You do not want stiff shocks. You want a shock with a compliant (controlled) frequency rate for your particular driving style and match the suspension dynamics. This is where the valving becomes critical.

And gas charge as well.

Hope I’m not hijacking your thread but Anyone know if the 0-1.5 fox 2.0 shocks will work on a stock JLUR with 35 inch tires? Worried about the length of shocks and wheel droop. Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes, the only concern would be sway inversion and I’m sure Fox took that into account.

Side note for anyone else looking at this thread. MC was sneaky and released the Rocksport Silvers this week, which could have been a good option for OP. And they’re on sale this weekend. Cough cough @CloakedWillys may want to do an announcement thread here.

I saw those, and while I’m sure they’ll be great I didn’t want to be the first lol.
